There are baskets, jars, and free strung beads of every kind, size, color, and material. The selection includes seed beads, delicate handmade lamp work, bone, wood, metal, shell, clay, and semiprecious stones. There are also lots of crystals, charms, strings, chains, and pendants. Guatemalan handbags and woven baskets full of stones, shells, and fossils add to the interesting nooks and crannies.
The shop owners are very cool, down to earth, friendly, and sweet. They are super helpful and offer amazing customer service. They can help you find the right beads for your jewelry projects and budget. You can pick your beads and make your jewelry there for great fun. The prices are great and the selection is large and incredible, getting better all the time. It is a perfect place for jewelry and craft makers, a must-see stop, and a long-time gem in Athens. Whether you are a local or visiting, you will leave with a wonderful experience. It is definitely groovy.
Three of us went in as first timers. They were very helpful and happy to work with us as we crafted two bracelets and one anklet. An hour of creative enjoyment for three people and we walked out with our custom finished jewelry for a little over $30. What a deal!!!!
