“Amazing hotel, so many things to do. My husband and I came down for a night and I was impressed with the local Walmart. I was also impressed with the continental breakfast that they serve. Their pool was beautiful. They have a wonderful hot tub. It’s very peaceful and quiet here I ended up booking a hotel room with a Jacuzzi room for only $180 on Expedia and this room was pretty clean and when we got there the toilet was plugged but they fixed it within the first 30 minutes. They are very professional and very clean. Highly recommend. Bob Evans is right next-door. It has a walkway to the hotel so you can eat there for dinner or breakfast. It is very conveniently located near the Ohio university and a beautiful river. I’m not sure. I believe it’s hocking River, but it could be something else again, right up the street there are some hidden gems as far as a nature. Drive plenty of hills winding and scenic routes. Have fun. Enjoy the nature.
I would recommend if you came down for some of the more nature experience and to get away from the city please plan cedar Falls in your itinerary. It is an hour and a half away from Athens, however some of those back roads are beautiful and they have some really great small towns off the beaten path and then some really neat diners. I would highly recommend BURRO State Park and along your drive hit avoid highways” on your Google maps and you will get led through the countryside and this is where you will find all of your hidden gems,”
