Kid-friendliness: Eating out with small kids can be a nightmare, but our family had a great night out at Kiser’s. Clean, plenty of space, lots of napkins, great food that everyone enjoyed. Ice cream all around for dessert!

I'll confess to being a BBQ snob up front. First thing I look for is smoke in the sky, and it was there, coming from a single cooker outside and under roof. Next thing I look for is a dried wood pile, but didn't see one, so the taste may be the product of good engineering rather than hickory smoke. Inside, you can seat yourself and order from a phone, or stand in line at the register, take a number sign, and your order will find you at your table relatively soon, even when the place was packed nearly full, vas it was today.I had a pulled pork dish without the bun. It was pretty good, and laced with burnt ends (which I prefer), and then I noticed from a sign on the wall that this is a Wednesday specialty. Serving size was about right, but perhaps a teensy bit dry; the order of onion rings was overdone and skimpy. As I left, I noticed a waiter taking a tray of food to a parked car, apparently due to the scarcity of inside seating at a busy time. There are some picnic tables outside, but unused today due to rain.Would I return? Yes, probably I will, just to try other menu items.

I moved out of Athens 8 years ago, and remembered that Kiser's was good, but I forgot how good. I went with my grandpa today, and my food was so great that I had to steal about half of his off his plate. He is a little bigger than me, but I'm 63 years younger and a lot more agile, so I was able to evade his old-man-strength death grip and make away with his BBQ pork and those tasty stewed beans. 10/10. Will bring grandpa again.

Don't usually stop to take a full lunch. But best lunch I have had in a while. Nice clean place to eat.

Just go eat here now. The place itself isn't huge, so seating may be an issue depending on how busy they are. But the food - just go eat there now! The food was amazing - we were lucky to be passing through town on a Wednesday, so they were serving burnt ends. The pig pen with burnt ends is delicious. We also like the fact that you can order several different sizes of each item, which allows you to really tailor your meal in accordance with your appetite. We'll definitely be back.

Over-the-top service and the food is good as usual. Haven't had Kaiser's for some time but those ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. I love the rub and the habanero sauce that seemed a little weak at first but built as I went alone. Great waitress and the music in the background was the soundtrack of my youth ❤️❤️

Over priced - not smoked. Bad quality meat. No meal options all sold separately. Served room temperature not even hot. Cole slaw might as well be called lightly saused cabbage. BBQ sauces are good but meat isn't cooked in sauce ?. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Was better food in the mall.

I love the variety of sauces, especially Carolina Vinager. Unfortunately, the BBQ was just a little dry, this trip, and I miss the wonderful juicy brats from early days. Jmho.
