New Market is the only Asian market in Athens, Ohio, and a very convenient location. Customers are grateful to have this store locally, as it provides items they would otherwise have to drive far to find. It is well-supplied with all sorts of interesting things, including noodles, sauces, dumplings, meats, international supplies, dried porcini, bean sprouts, and kimchi. The kimchi is considered authentic and not bad. The staff is noted as being very kind. While some find it a little pricey, many also state the prices are reasonable, noting good deals on specific items. Some prices can be hard to find until checkout. It is described as a nice, awesome place that customers love and would heartbroken to see close, with many planning to return often.
Love this store! my friends and I love coming here to get stuff to make meals and they have all kinds of teas and things you cant find anywhere else in athens without driving hours to get it! Lovely owners and always have a great selection of frozen food, treats and banchan! (if I remember correctly)
