The quality of the goods and the overall vibe of the store has significantly decreased in recent months. This can be directly linked to the new manager who treated her employees so poorly that 90% of them quit. Even the makerspace is in shambles. No more young people there with taste curating good thrift finds, just a rude manager running it into the ground. Good for recycling & zero waste purposes, but i wouldn’t give them my money if i were you.

In theory a place with a great purpose but new changes to the space has left the selection worse off, the shopping experience is now just a mess not to mention community involvement and environment isn’t what it was. Learn to value the labor that people do for u!!! Remember ur mission as a space and actually respect that.

Toxic work environment, lack of care, caddy behavior, victim blaming, exploits underpaid workers, not aligned with the mission.

Easily the best thrift store in town.

Fairly typical thrift store. Fairly cheap, but has some genuinely good products. There was a lightly used COACH purse for only $50. No real complaints.

Wonderful thrift store supporting/partnered with Rural Action. The people here are awesome. Don’t expect to come in here trying to tell them how to do their jobs though; they know what they’re doing, they do it well, and they won’t hesitate to let you know if you’re being rude.

Best place to thrift in Athens! Filled with all sorts of jazz for whatever your fancy! Not to mention, the crew who keeps this place up and running are nothing but the best! Absolutely yes you should stop by here if you’re around the area!

I love thrift stores in general, but the UpCycle Ohio Thrift Store is special! It's super clean, it's better-organized than most thrift stores I've ever been to, and it has this added creative space component. Some of the products are actual upcycled art and functional art made by local people out of things that would otherwise be in the waste stream! Plus there's the fabric space, and even a maker space and a tool library if you're local to the Athens area and need access to specialized equipment. I love it! And my dogs love the upcycled tarn braided rope toys I got them!
