I absolutely love coming to this vet! They saved my dog when no one else would work with me. He ended up having Parvo, which normally would unalive an animal, and it's VERY expensive to treat. They were willing to do everything in their power to save my pup! Their pricing is a bit steep but definitely worth the extra bucks to have great service!

I called multiple vets in the area to get quotes on euthanasia for my 18-year cat; what an experience. $340, $240, $99 plus maybe an exam fee and to top it off only $550 for in your home service. I was totally getting the run around and beyond frustrated, until I called Avon Lake Animal Clinic, Thank Dr. Turner for the service you and your staff provided and the price of $115 was reasonable and the price I was expecting to pay. I'll be back for sure. For the other vets I called, let me give you some free advice. Be transparent with your pricing. No one wants to be price-raped for a service they really don't want in the first place. Rape your customers during voluntary regular visits, then don't take advantage of them during the difficult time of end of life.

When I started going to Avon Lake Animal Clinic for my Macaw back in 2021, I seen Dr. Graham and her nurse Kayla, let me tell you they are the best exotics Veterinarian and Vet Tech I have ever met. I have refused to take my Macaw to any other Vet than Her. Which is has now unfortunately left, but we are going to her new place of work. The reason why I gave this review one star is that My family and I have 2 cane corsos and a pomsky. Our one cane corso Axle had cherry eye at the time we thought his brother may of accidentally scratched his eye and it had not been getting better, so I called and talked to a vet during the night shift and they said bring him in tomorrow and we probably would be able to give him cream or oral medicine instead of the eyedrops he is refusing. So we agreed and scheduled a appointment with them and they gave us an later day appointment but had to be charged with a same day appointment fee, at this point we decided to pay it if we could get medicine that would work for our guy. We got into the room and the nurse Eliza came in greeted us and Axle, was very friendly and assured us they would do everything they could to try and get that eye figured out. Dr. Haddad jr came in and he said that they would put stain in his eye and see if they was a scratch but if there was no scratch then he would give him eyedrops and show us different techniques to use on Axle. They take Axle into the back room with them and when Axle came back by a different nurse he came running to us as if he was scared. Which we did have his prong collar on with his regular collar, but that does not effect Axle at all. When the Doctor came back into the room he preceded to tell us that we need to becareful to not make him have a bad temperament and make sire to give him breaks so he doesn't start getting standoffish. Axle has never been an aggressive dog and still is not one! Which is weird because we have had both cane corsos since they were puppies and they have more the most caring, friendly, happy and loving dogs I have ever seen. They both love people so much. Doctor then said he didn't put the eyedrops in his eyes and we would have to do it when we got home. On the car ride home Axle kept on whining and would not lay down until I took his prong collar off . To this day he still gets scared from certain situations or objects that he remembers from that situation. I feel so bad for my guy. If Dr.Graham was still there I would say go take your exotics to her. But for all the dog doctors I wouldn't take my dog there ever again. I hope this helps people not take their dogs and put them in a situation like that!

WHAT A GREAT FACILITY & VET!! I adopted my dog about a year ago & have been to 2 different vets that were awful & I was finally told to go here. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! I saw a technician first who was so nice before seeing Dr Trent, they both took so much time going over ALL my concerns & never acted rushed (this is rare!). They TRULY cared about what was going on with my dog. I had heard this place was expensive, but that's not true, it's no more expensive to come to a truly professional & caring facility than it was to go to the other two offices that really (I feel) don't care about your pet. I will be a customer here for life!! This group is the absolute best!!

After taking our dog to a small vet clinic that was impossible to get into (especially when our puppy was sick) -we are incredibly happy that we made the switch. Our 1 year old dog just got neutered here and the doctors and technicians made the surgery and experience seamless. This was the first time we ever left our dog, but we felt confident he was in the best hands. All of our questions were answered with kindness, patience, and care-we didn't feel rushed. The follow-up calls from the doctor and staff eases any worries while your pet is in their care! The price was a little more than our prior vet clinic; however, he was kept overnight at Avon Lake and was monitored 24/7-and for us-this was worth the extra cost. In terms of other visits-we did an emergency visit to get him in late on a Friday evening after getting an infection -and the price was very reasonable and comparative to other clinics. Plus he was able to be seen ASAP and get antibiotics administered quickly. This clinic is available 24/7, but doesn't feel like a factory. Staff is personable and kind just like a small town vet -but with more technology, resources, and accessibility!

My boxer has had three surgeries at the Avon animal clinic. Each and every time they have provided efficient and quality care to my pets. It is a large practice but they do a fantastic job making you feel like you're their only customer.

I have been bringing my dog here for a couple of years. he's a senior boy with several medical concerns. they are a lot more expensive than other vets, but I came here thinking that he was getting better care here. I don't think that's the case anymore. their customer service has really fallen off. It's hard to get the same vet on a regular basis, and they have so many people working there because it's such a big business it's not very personal anymore. I don't feel like they know my pet. And recently, they don't bother to call with test results anymore. and they nickel and dime you for every bit that they can get. I've spent a lot on my pet's care, and quite frankly I'm happy to because I love him, but I no longer feel like they really care about Lefty, I feel like they just care about getting the next buck out of me. it's very frustrating because I love my dog a lot and I want him to have the best care. I had thought that that was going to be here. I'm sad to say, that I think maybe I was wrong. so just know that before you come. good luck, I hope your little fur babies stay healthy.

Place is fine but they are very expensive. If they want to give your pet a prescription med I strongly recommend that rather than let them dispense the med there, you ask for a printed prescription and take it to your local pharmacy or use one of many online retailers (Chewy, Petco, etc) that fill prescriptions for pets. I did not know this until I recently let Avon Lake Animal Clinic fill a prescription for my dog at a cost of $85.50. When I got home I found the exact same drug available at Chewy.com for a total of $15.03 (which includes $4.95 for 2-day shipping). So a savings of over $70! After talking to friends about what they pay for their veterinary services elsewhere (vaccinations, etc) I also learned that Avon Lake Animal Clinic's prices for vet care are also very high. Buyer beware.

They helped us manage the terminal care of cat that was sudden and traumatic. Dr. Kapfka (?) was so amazing and kind. I would never take my animals to any other clinic!

Like many others, our dogs are our children and ALAC was great with our Boxer's knee surgery. The staff was very professional and took great care of our girl!

I like that there are several vets and evaluation is performed and work up with cost is itemized. Thank you for taking care of my Felix.

I had been a client of Dr. Krupka for 12 years. Rabbits do not have the muscle in their throats that enables them to vomit. It is physically impossible for them to do so. However ..... last September my precious bunny PJ began spitting up mucous and sometimes blood. Dr. Krupka asked me to send him videos. After reviewing the videos Dr. Krupka concluded, "I've never seen anything like this before and don't know what's going on." PJ was put on drugs which did nothing to remedy the situation. I asked the vet if he would do an x-ray or CT. HE WOULD NOT because PJ was 8 y/o. Nothing more was done. In the meantime PJ continued to vomit so in January we traveled to see a specialist, Dr. Gary Riggs at Barberton Veterinary Clinic who after a few tests, and $700 later, did nothing more than put PJ on even more drugs. There were NEVER any follow-up phone calls from either Clinic to see how PJ was doing/feeling. In desperation, in May I approached Dr. Emermann at ALAC who consented to do the CT. It cost $1,000.00 but that's okay; I loved my baby. That is when the mass was found that, by this time, took up most of PJ's lung. STILL NO recommendations or suggestions for treatment were given to me. I recognize doctors are busy people but lay people rely on doctors for help and suggestions because we surely don't know what's going on or what to do. I received no further help from ALAC whatsoever. Remembering my mother dealt with colon cancer I searched the web and found a vet in Rolla, Missouri who specializes in ozone therapy. It's a 10 hour drive from my house to Rolla, MO. The veterinarian is a wonderful Christian woman who immediately put PJ on ozone along with other therapeutics. PJ was recovering beautifully. Then all of a sudden he started losing weight and exhibiting signs that were not good. The love of my life died in my arms. Research on the web indicated possible causes for the throwing up mucous and blood as an ulcer, cancerous/non-cancerous mass, or an abscess. I later learned a classic symptom of adenocarcinoma is spitting up mucous and blood but in all fairness to Avon Lake Animal Clinic, adenocarcinoma may or may not have been the cause of death. To this day no one knows the cause of death. I just find it rather suspicious the symptoms exhibited by PJ were exactly the symptoms associated with Adenocarcinoma but again nothing came up conclusive and no tests provided any answer. Ozone has a VERY high success rate, especially with cancer, and I am firmly convinced that if Dr. Krupka had done the CT when all this began and PJ had immediately been put on ozone he would still be here with his Mommy and sisters, Paisley and Amelia. RIP PJ. Mommy loves you and misses you dearly. xoxo P.S. I still cry; I miss him so badly! Below is his picture resting on my lap.

I was a client of Avon Lake Animal Clinic from 1985 to 2018.I lost my beloved Lab Gracie to very poor judgement and diagnosis on Dr. Frank Krupka.I brought her in for senior exam, she was 12.He told me she needed a dental.I told him no,she's too old,and not doing well! He said let's do blood work, see if mom's right! Told me it was high risk if I did or didn't do it.His assistant called me back, said Gracie's blood wk was beautiful. When I picked her up after her procedure, they had to carry her to my car, bleeding from the rectum.Claimed it was Colitis. She was sent home with no antibiotics, pain meds, after dental extractions. She hemmoraged the next morning, and I rushed her to the hospital./Dr. Krupka never called me until I called 3 times demanding he call me back.He said he would call me that night! Really? The surgery was Friday, and this was Monday! My precious girl,I lost the following day! Never again will I trust this place!!!

I had taken my pet there for the last 6 months to find out what's wrong with her. She had breathing problems, and after X-rays I was given a steroid medicine to help her out. That did not help. Another visit and the prognosis was asthma or cancer. I was given meds for the asthma. On the third visit I was given Medicine to help her eat since she wasn't eating and also had her re-examined. Prognosis, vets didn't know. My pet needed a specialist. Next day the medicine that I used to help her eat ended up costing her life. Breathing was way to fast and she had to be euthanized. After spending $2000 and having to put my pet down I would like to thank the vets for their incompetence!! I gave 2 stars because they seemed like they genuinely care, but perhaps they could've been more forthright in their diagnosis.

The staff here is extremely professional, polite, and helpful! Despite being busy they took time to spend with me and my pet to diagnose the problem. Dr. Haddad was extremely knowledgeable. I did not feel rushed and he made sure I was comfortable with the outcome and answer any of my questions. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
