My dog was a patient of Dr. Olive’s for about 3 years, the beginning of which was 2020 when I couldn’t go into the appointment with her. In 2022 my dog (who was 13) having symptoms of a major increase in appetite (she was never food motivated previously), waking up in the middle of the night asking for food and always asking for food. We were concerned since this was unlike her for the past 13 years. Dr. Olive was incredibly dismissive. I continued to bring her in saying nothing had changed and I was concerned. We cooked for our dog, she got all the right nutrients per past vets she had seen. At the third appt for the same issue, Dr. Olive asked me if my dog was eating dog food and I said no, you know we cook for her. And she said are you offering her dog food? To which we said, no, that hadn’t been suggested. She then proceeds to tell me it’s only a concern if a dog isn’t eating and if she isn’t eating dog food she must not be that hungry. Her lab numbers were also concerning which she was also dismissive of. She also told me if it is Cushing's (what we were expecting) that the treatment is terrible and the side effects are worse than the Cushing's itself. We immediately switched vets and in ONE appointment she was diagnosed with Cushing’s and started on medication. She did GREAT with medication and her numbers improved significantly. There were months that my dog, my baby, suffered because of Dr. Olive’s negligence, dismissiveness and overall rudeness. That type of behavior is completely unprofessional and not okay. It is her job to care for animals. When I called to inform the office about this, I was told that multiple other patients had had the same exact complaint about Dr. Olive.

Wonderful vet and great staff. Both my daughters like brining their pets here. My dog oldest daughter had two bad experiences with her dogs vet that made her after, many years leave. She plans for her dog to see this vet. She likes Animal Clinic Northview too but this one is closer and even better experience with them.

The staff were very nice . And the medicine is working , still waiting for her hair to grow back but I know the vet said it would be longer but approximately a month. But she's looking good , no scratching anymore . Thank you . The prices are some what high . Especially for someone on a fixed income. Like disability which that's me low income . Thank you again for your help .

I have been coming to Avon Animal Hospital for over 30 years. I've always gotten the very best of care for my four-legged family members here. I recommend Avon Animal Hospital to anyone who wants top-notch veterinary care.

Great animal hospital the helped my wee little piggies hurt shoulder. She had a little limp and the vet subscribed her some pains meds and some TLC. The visit was smooth and easy we found them on Google while we were camping in Ohio, I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet doc.

Brought my dog in with a badly cut leg, I was told to bring him in after telling them I only had $165 bucks until I got paid 3 days later, so after bringing him in they looked at him and said his legs cut he needs surgery and because you only have 165 we won't touch him, no bandage nothing for pain just told what I already knew said take him home and deal with it till you've got money. Then charged me 165 for all the care they didn't provide and wrote a script for antibiotics I had to go fill myself and pay for separately. When I called to get him in after I got paid I was told the doctor that saw him was out and nobody else could help when I complained about their lack of caring I was told I was money hungry and hung up on this is after taking every penny I had for nothing. This place is a disgrace unless you've got deep pockets

The staff is very friendly, and they were so patient with my dog, an 81-pound scaredy-cat! I hate that it costs more than my own doctor appointments, but I know she's in good hands here!

Been going there for years. It feels like the service went down and the price went up - I took my indoor cat there because it was bleeding out of the rectum. They were more interested in charging a lot of money for vaccines. I still don’t know why it is still bleeding weeks later. I guess she won’t die of distemper.

My family and I have been taking our pets to this clinic for years and never experienced an issue. Until now.The other day my husband and I took both of our cats in for check ups and rabies vaccines. The visit went mostly fine but I will not be able to award any more than 2 stars, as the exam table was dirty (covered in fur and clearly not wiped down between patients). Not to mention there was a tapeworm on the tray on top of the scale! Our cat was sat on top of it and the assistant asked me if she had tapeworm. She certainly does not. This means the tapeworm came from an animal who visited previously. The assistant also informed us the worm had been moving, therefore alive! The fact that the assistant was unaware of the worm’s presence on the scale tray shows it was not wiped and cleaned b/t patients, let alone even glanced at to determine if it was clean before use!I voiced my concerns with the vet (Anita) and she did not do much other than to assure my husband and I our cat can only get tapeworm if ingesting another animal (such as a rat or flea infected with it).Even if that is true, there should be no tapeworm or other parasite anywhere within the vicinity of where animals are getting check ups!No money was taken off my bill, as it should have been. I was not offered any other kind of compensation either. With how much you have to pay for a simple check up the items they are using to do so should certainly be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each use.Very disappointing.I will say both assistant and vet were very kind and gentle with our cats. That is wonderful but the level of sanitation within my visit that day was not adequate.
