I am guessing that corporate does not know that the number of unhelpful employees at the Avon, Ohio store severely out number the helpful employees. you can enter that store anytime, any day and have a minimum of 5 employees standing within the return counter doing NOTHING. hope you are ready to completely feel ignored, because that is exactly what will happen. if you need help anywhere in the store, because probably no one is there, head over to the return counter and just try to get someone's attention. My guess these employees are friends with the management. Maybe corporate should ask themselves, why is Menards taking our customers? It is not due to a better selection, or to the rebates, it is due to the helpfulness of their employees.

Shopped there for years. Came in with a black person and got worst service ever. They seemed so bothered to even have to talk to us. Then sent us to the opposite end of the store with wrong directions. What we asked about was right next to him! Stay away if not white imho.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful help I received today at this Home Depot! From Ben and Nick at the flooring department to J who guided us to the vanities area where Jake and the lovely lady, who works at the vanities department as well, helped us so much! I forgot the name of the kind young man (he puts all the displays together I was told) he brought us two bottles of water!I hope the manager sees this review and takes the time to do something special for these wonderful employees! Kind, professional and knowledgeable! Also, I need to mention Nicky at the self help register she made sure we didn't have any problems as we were checking out the merchandise! Beautiful personality she so adorable and kind! Bravo to all of you! We'll be back!

Outstanding guest service from the curb to the checkout! I ran in a few minutes before close, with the crazy idea of getting what I need for a surprise bedroom makeover, and not knowing what I needed or how to do it. I told Danielle in Paint that I needed to clean up and prep the walls--and maybe the ceiling--for painting, through the primer stage. I would stop there and let the homeowner make remaining decisions. Danielle took up the challenge, spring into action, and got it all together for me in ten minutes! She reassured me that I could handle it, and she (quickly) took me through the steps. She recommended a no-sand spackle since the holes all are small; an adhesive remover to take off what's left after the glue-on lights are removed; blue masking tape in the most useful width; rollers and brushes appropriate to the job, including a fuzzier roller that I'll need for the popcorn ceiling; and a gallon of Kilz2 to prime with. Kudos to Home Depot for hiring and training a diverse workforce whose culture is to take care of their guests. Much appreciated.

Be sure to fully clean almost to the point of waxing equipment before returning to this Home Depot. I returned a lawn over seed machine with the most minimum amount of dirt on the bottom only to be charged $50 for a cleaning fee. This was not brought up in the beginning nor was the bottom of the machine shown to me to prove it was perfectly clean when I received it. Sales associate literally took three minutes to scrape the bottom off and proceeded to charge me for the cleaning. I have rented thousands of dollars in rental equipment from major places like Leppo‘s without any problems until this place. The store manager was going to take the charge off but because an associate of mine was with me and was not happy with the treatment he decided to charge it to me anyway. Very poor customer service will not be returning for rentals and will decide to spend money with Lowe’s and Menards before using Home Depot again.Great job Home Depot keep it up!

So this was the second time it happened. How many people like going through the checkout when it's not busy and have to use the self serve. Two registers over two ladies are just talking And the light is off for the register. I really don't like this.

Only criticism is the no reservation policy. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. Can't beat the price.

I did not use tool & truck rental... I was there for a piece of downspout. I had to climb on a shelf to reach a non-bent piece of downspout. There was no one near that aisle to ask for assistance (must-have been break time or something). This is unusual for Depot... which is usually crawling with associates.

I never write reviews but I have to give a huge thanks to and recommend the flooring department at the Avon store. Holly, specifically, helped us in a jam and really went out of her way to support us through an issue we encountered with customer service (not at the physical store). Thank you, Holly! We will definitely be Home Depot customers in the future!

Currently our garage door is acting up. This Sunday we went shopping at the standard three. The last place on our list was Home Depot. I knew this wasn't going to go well when I asked the young lady at the front where we can find garage doors. She looked at me like I had three heads. We informed her that we were looking to order one or look at examples. She had to go to the front of the store to ask. Instead of asking she went up and had a conversation with the information group. I pulled out my phone and used the app. Within seconds I was standing in aisle 28 where the garage doors and the help desk. We walked up to the help desk. Standing there were three home depot employees. They were in the middle of a conversation so we waited until they were done. The whole time we were looking at doors waiting for the conversation to end. Once they were done all three walked away. No one said boo, hello, or FU. So there we stood looking lost. We took some pics and prices and left the store. The sad thing about it the door we want is at Home Depot. If the installation service is anything like the sales service it may not be worth it. Never had this much problems before but I am normally self-sufficient. I am either buying wood, tools, or simple odds and ends. I have great experience with the wood department. When it comes to getting things cut they do not care if it is one cut or multiple cuts. But on average my service at the store has been mediocre at best.

I end up going to Lowe’s because they are dog friendly. Apparently this one of the few Home Depot’s that doesn’t allow dogs as pets.

Russell- the new Assistant Manager is AWESOME! I'm currently remodeling my kitchen and was completely disappointed when I picked up my counter tops and sink. 1 of the 8ft counter tops was damaged and the sink was dented!! The counter tops could of have been ordered but the waiting time was unacceptable! Russell took his time with us, opening boxes of other sinks to check for damages and discounted the counter top. If half of the employees at Home Depot handled their customers as well as Russell did, I'd never shop at Lowe's! Thank you Home Depot for having Russell as your team member! He is what has made this customer happy!!!
