I came here to try it out, and was aware that the cost of a day pass ($57) was obviously exorbitant compared to other gyms, but I wanted to see what they had to offer.
The front desk staff was quite rude and very unwelcoming and most of the other staff I saw throughout the gym were sitting and conversing with each other or on their phones.
I was extremely surprised by how outdated all of the equipment was. It was also absolutely filthy. They had a class going in the middle of the weight area, which is fine, but it was ridiculously loud. I had my noise suppression headphones up full blast and I still couldn’t drown out the noise.
If I had a good experience I would have considered joining, but this place was completely underwhelming, especially compared to other gyms in northeast Ohio. For this being considered a premium priced gym, I was expecting it to be clean, updated and staffed with friendly employees which wasn’t the case at all.

Just joined Lifetime Beachwood. Imagine my surprise when they charge 14 percent more than the $179 monthly price? FEES of 14% without any itemization is just bad business. Tax should be 8% max. Just raise your rate and be honest. Shame on you

I scheduled the complimentary tour. I showed up a few minutes early, signed in and took a seat. I got sick of waiting and left. No follow up call, email or text. They just don’t care.

Not surprised by the current rating, the gym isn’t what it used to be. I was a member for almost 10 years and watched the steady decline in customer service, equipment deteriorating, all while prices continue to rise. Sure aesthetically it’s an attractive place, but that’s surface level lure, once you’re in you realize it’s a gimmick. The staff is snobby, rude, inconsiderate and off putting most days. Energy is everything and this place doesn’t have a good vibe, at all.

Joined a year ago for $220 a month for two people. Now, a year later, the rate is $260 a month. This location has no business charging this much. The Stairmasters near the weight-lifting area are crusty, old, and barely work. For the ones that do work, you have to push the touchscreen buttons multiple times for them to register. The treadmills are nice but poorly cleaned—if you look inside the holes below the screens, they’re filled with dust. There’s a special GTX open workout area that plays extremely loud music during classes—and since the workout space is open, the entire workout floor has to listen to the loud music. The gym doesn’t provide basketballs for the basketball court—you’d think for $260 a month that they’d be willing to do that. I’ve been to the location in Schaumburg, IL, and it’s so much nicer and cleaner than this Beachwood facility. Plus, the equipment in Schaumburg is newer, and within the past couple of months I received a push notification that the Schaumburg location is upgrading its equipment.

I love the outdoor pools and hot tub and the indoor pools are amazing. Also, there’s a cold plunge pool inside also.

I strongly advise avoiding this gym due to multiple issues with billing and poor customer service. I was charged $650 in addition to my monthly $200+ membership fees without any explanation. Trying to resolve the issue has been incredibly frustrating, something I would expect from a discount gym like Planet fitness, not a luxury organization charging $200+ per month
Reaching someone from their membership staff has been nearly impossible - calls and messages go unanswered for several days and there is little to no back and forth conversation or accountability. When I have reached front desk Staff to ask for help with billing they are rude and have an unhelpful and entitled attitude.
For example when I called today to follow up when my call wasn’t returned from earlier in the day…’we know who you are and someone will contact you back when they are available, you don’t need to keep calling’ was the response I received.

Very nice gym. Quite dated though. 3* because the staff will literally talk down to you like they're not desk clerks lol. Not the most serious gym. More of a place for people to socialize and kinda work out. When I asked if they had preworkout, they looked at me like I was a savage. Maybe I'm spoiled by my home gym. I just felt like I was being talked down to for asking if they had things every other gym has. No tanning, no real massage beds, no good energy drinks, no decent water fountains. They said they don't have those things because they're unhealthy, but offer you other unhealthy alternatives lol. Def more of a day club than a gym for people. If you lift heavy you're for sure in the wrong place.

Too many children.
Old entitled people.
Too crowded. All the time too crowded.
Creepy old men stalking the gym equipment.
Can’t enjoy the pool because there’s too many kids.
$130 membership fee for one person/ month. $200 for two people/ month.
The GM Michael Thorsten is too rude and too young to be in that position.
There’s nothing good about his gym.
It’s the daycare of Beachwood.
You can go to 3 other gyms for the price of this one.
Old equipment that has never been replaced.
ZERO STARS!!!!!!!

Life Time is such a nice gym! Between the classes, pools, and other amenities, like clean saunas, it's a totally nice gym to belong to.

Lifetime Fitness is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been a part of, and a big part of that is thanks to Carlton. From the moment you walk in, Carlton’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious. He’s incredibly charismatic, personable, and always greets you with a smile. His positive attitude makes the entire gym experience even better. Carlton truly cares about the members, and it shows in every interaction. Thank you, Carlton, for making Lifetime Fitness such a welcoming and uplifting place!
