Joanna’s professionalism and compassion shined in the planning and execution of moms funeral. She texted me during visitation (on her day off) to make sure everything was satisfactory. She’s the right person in the right profession.

We unexpectedly lost my mother in law recently. It left us broken and not knowing what to do. Luckily my mother in law had the cemetery arrangements made out of town at her prior home but we had to handle the cremation wishes for her here. Joanna Fowkes took over and guided us through this extremely hard time. She took care of everything and eased the burden on us .Thank you for being compassionate and caring.

Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home provided excellent service during a difficult time. They helped me make decisions about my mother’s services that I couldn’t have done alone . Grace Furbee and her staff were friendly, compassionate, kind, and professional from start to finish. They handled everything with the sensitivity and ease needed in the difficult area of death. All the logistical items were clear, and they took the time to explain everything in detail. They definitely took our feelings and emotions seriously and that was very much appreciated. They truly made a difference during such a difficult time and I can’t thank them enough !! Thank you , Thank you , Thank you!!!! With Love , Brittany Griffin and family ! ❤️

Serving as Pastor with many families during very difficult times in the loss of loved ones. Bauknecht-Altmeyer has always been very professional. I have received word from 100% of the families that their difficult time was made so much easier due to Joanna Fowkes! All made note of the care, compassion and professionalism she bestowed upon them!Joanna has provided excellent communication to me through all the services we've worked together on. I also am witness to her care and compassion which is above and beyond. Very professional and so helpful, communicates up to the point of sending me a reminder of date and time beforehand. She has truly been a blessing to myself and all the families she cares for!Well done!!!

My grandmother wanted this specific funeral home as in the past it has been great, not so much this time. We were presented with options or pricing. They made my mother and uncle feel rushed and unimportant . The woman handling the arrangements kept disappearing into another room. My mother and uncle were asked to call the life insurance company to get a claim number just to be informed that they needed to get a short term loan at 5% interest so the funeral home didn't have to wait for the insurance money . So it ended up costing an additional $400 over her $13000 dollar policy. Additionally after all the paperwork was signed she realized she didn't include the engraving on the headstone, and it needed to be paid out of pocket. To add insult to injury, the day before her service they wanted to move my grandmother's body mid service to another room. The only reason this didn't come to fruition is because we had to have multiple call and complain. My mother left a review stating all of this as well, and their response to her review was to call and say that the representative that helped us "had been spoken to, and will handle it differently in the future"To top it all off my mother received a phone call today saying that she still owed the funeral home money, even after the life insurance paid out. They are super unorganized and inconsiderate in a very stressful time. None of my family will ever being using Bauknecht-Altmeyer in the future !

It has been said that into every life a little rain must fall and each of us must experience the tragedy of losing a loved one. On the darkest of days just a small ray of sunshine can bring comfort and hope for tomorrow. In my darkest hour, the ray of sunshine bringing me comfort and hope came from the caring hearts of the staff of Bauknect-Altmeyer (St. C), specifically Joanna Fowkes. She guided my family through the most difficult time of our lives and remains in contact with us as we continue to process our grief. We all have to go through this but because of Joanna and folks like her, it doesn't have to be as hard. My family and I are grateful and appreciate all you do!

My grandma had passed away in Tampa, FL. at the age of 103. At the time I was in the Keys on vacation, and hurricane Ian was now heading straight for our homes, stressed is an understatement. With leaving the Keys early and heading home to prepare for Ian, and making the funeral arrangements all at the same time, Joanna Fowkes was able to handle the obituary, flower spread and ribbons, choosing pamphlets, thank you cards, procession, absolutely everything through text messaging for me. She was a god-sent, a helpful, compassionate and loving person. There were no surprises due to her transparency and explanations on what to expect for what was prepaid and what additional choices and costs there were. She was also able to convert a memorial video from iCloud to a dvd and play it during the viewing. Joanna went above and beyond for us, She became a member of our family that day.My sincere gratitude to Joanna Fowkes for making this go smoothly and without stress.Stella Singleton

My family and I would like to thank Joanna for all the love and care she gave us. She helped to make sure everything was done right for grandma’s service. It was a beautiful service. We live in Florida and had to have everything done over the phone and she was always there for us with any questions we had. When we got to Ohio we had to worry about hurricane Ian back home. Joanna was always checking up on us before the service, after and made sure we all made it home safe.
