I went to the Salvation Army store today and there was a bunch of stuff outside and I got out of my car and started to look at the stuff and there was a person sitting there and said ma’am you can’t look at the stuff we’re getting ready to close up we’re not selling this stuff anymore .The guy was rude . I have a large amount of stuff to donate, and I will not donate it there. I’m gonna donate it to the Goodwill, and I will never spend another penny in that store, which I usually do go in there and spend a large amount of money. I will never do it again.

If you are disabled, have no car, have problems walking, have a major chronic illness, and need to have things delivered because of mobility issues. Don’t even bother wasting your time with these people. They will not deliver to anyone who actually needs help and has no one to help them. Sorry, but very let down after making donations out in front of stores for years to these people. Should have kept the money.

Overall, my interactions and the help I received from this organization were enormously helpful and you all have my undying gratitude. When I had nowhere to stay, you let me stay there. That's an incredible gift.A lot of the staff also sometimes tried to make sure I was comfortable there for my 2-3 week stay. If I had a complaint, the shelter director and some other staff would try to help me. They seemed to want to protect me and I think that they did what they could do. I'm very appreciative. They have fun programs to attend (like an awesome carnival -- where I won an accessory for my doll -- and religious-based lectures). They make sure that we have food. There are snacks in the kitchen at all times and dinner every night. Now, I had to take off one star. Some of the staff were short-tempered and would seemingly lash out at you for no reason. I would try to follow the rules, but once I got screamed at for doing so. Then that same man harrassed me later and made me more uncomfortable. He still works there so far as I know. Here is a real kicker:I received a box in the mail there from a friend. My laptop computer was inside the box. I did not turn it on until I got to St. Clairsville, Ohio. Guess what? Everything (like weather, Internet connection, etc.). was set to Bellaire, Ohio. That means that someone else logged onto my laptop computer without my permission. What if I had had inappropriate things on there (that would have only been meant for the man I love)? I'm also missing my MP3 player, by the way. My friend said he sent it to me, but it was not in the box.Regarding residents:A lot of the other residents there were liars, thiefs, and bullies. Some tried to control me, order me around, and were very nosey about my where-abouts.I liked or warmed up to some of them near the end...but I do think that a lot (read: most) of them are sick in the head and are troubled people. Some walk around the premises as if it's their kingdom and like they're superior people. All I'm saying is that if you stay here and you try to be a good person, be careful. Protect yourself. Don't get too trusting...I did not feel like I got a lot of respect there from residents. However, all in all, if I ever am able to donate nice stuff to them in the future, I want to...I had some great times here. I even made friends at their church service/after the church service.

People here are fantastic! Very helpful. Facility looks clean and safe. Can't say enough nice things about this place. If you want to donate stuff, it's a very worthy place. If you need assistance or shelter, it's a great place to get help.
