We love to stay at lodging on the square ( the one on main street in Berlin) the handicap room at this location has a huge walk-in shower and the bed is very comfortable.

We stayed for the weekend at Lodging on the square. The check in was at Berlin Inn which is just a few blocks away. They have several sister properties. Great communication explaining how to find our room and breakfast and etc. We had to go to Berlin Inn to have the complimentary breakfast each morning. It wasn’t ideal but very understandable. There wasn’t many at our hotel so it made sense from a business standpoint to not pay someone to manage the breakfast for a few hours for only a couple of us. They offered coffee, juice, omelets, make your own waffles, sausage gravy & biscuits. Yogurt, fruit, oatmeal and dried cereal. Everything tasted good. Our room was the king deluxe suite with jetted tub. You had to go down several steps to get inside and it was facing the street. I will say it was not noisy though. It was a nice quiet big room. The bedroom was off by itself with a door. The living room was open and the tub was located in it. Good size kitchen but small fridge that didn’t hold much (don’t buy a lot of food to take home that needs refrigeration). They had a small coffee pot and microwave. They don’t leave you paper plates or silverware so I suggest bringing some with you. If you want to warm up leftovers you will need them. We did have access to the lobby and we found some plastic forks there that we used. The location is great because you can walk to all the shops. There’s a great coffee shop just a block away! The bed was large and comfortable. The room was clean but a little outdated. That being said we got what we paid for and I feel it was worth the money we paid. It’s very affordable, quiet and comfortable. Plenty of parking as well. Perfect for a little weekend away.Walkability: Location is perfect to walk all around downtown Berlin. That was a huge plus.

An older motel in the center of town. Interior is dated, smells old. They don't staff this location anymore. You must check in at a sister location down the road. This was my "go-to" place to stay when in Berlin, but not anymore. Road noise was significant. Fire alarm at 11:55 didn't help either5 had to sit in the parking lot for 30 minutes while they reset the system. Bed was comfortable, but that's about all the good, I can say.

The building is located in downtown Berlin which makes walking to restaurants and gift shops very easy. The rooms were reasonably clean but very dated. The bed was comfortable and the through-the-wall AC unit did its job and was not real loud. The main issue you need to be aware of is that there is no reception desk at this address. You have to check in at a separate facility that is a little less than a mile away... definitely a new experience and an unexpected and less than desirable requirement for me. Additionally, the continental breakfast would be viewed as less an appetizing. Unfortunately, given this experience, I would not recommend "Lodging on the Square" to family or friends.Walkability: Centrally located to the shops in Berlin

Don’t be fooled by the pictures on website. Best thing this place has going for it is its location. When we first went into room looked really clean and we were excited for our stay until we looked around the room. Had a kitchenette in room part of reason we stayed no bowels, plates, glasses or utensils provided. First time I stayed at a hotel or cabin in Amish country that had a kitchenette without supplying you the stuff to use it. The furniture was very uncomfortable to sit on. No padding on arms just hard wood under the fabric. Cushions sank because it was a sleeper sofa. We looked forward to the use of the jacuzzi but unlike other places we have stayed no items for bubbles were provided instead a sign threatening a fine if you used any products in it. Would not recommend this place at all. I spent more money than I should have had to for a lodging with a kitchenette. You can see in photos they used all the cabinet space to store their housekeeping stuff for the room and not for items to make my stay nicer.

Room had an old musty smell, many stains on the carpet, didn’t want to walk around without shoes. Place hang up was over the microwave. Breakfast was awful, no protein, cranberry juice was mixed so lightly, didn’t taste like anything but flavored water. Coffee was barely warm.Way way wayyyy overpriced for absolutely no amenities or discounts. Many people staying there were saying the same.Safety: There is no staff , ever on sight. Another older couple were concerned for their safety because of this

Very disappointed. Hotel is situated in a heavy traffic area and you could hear the trucks zooming by, and there was a definite musty spell. Room was clean, but the noise and odor were a turn off. We opted to lose one nights fee to stay elsewhere. I’m careful with my money, but I knew I would not sleep well there.

Rooms were very clean. Location was great Located right in the middle of town. It’s hard to rate the service as there was no staff actually at the location.

We had an exceptionally awesome experience at Lodging on the Square! Our room was large, super clean, fabulous shower and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever had. They delivered way more than we expected for what we paid. Within walking distance to everything in Berlin. We didn't try the breakfast because we went to Boyd & Wurthman every morning (best fried mush you'll ever eat!). We will definitely be returning to Lodging on the Square!Rooms: Extremely clean and comfortableWalkability: Within walking distance to nearly everything in Berlin.

For the deluxe jacuzzi room, be aware that it’s not handicap accessible. There’s about 10 steps down an outside uncovered staircase for access. The kitchen area has a microwave, a generic one cup coffee pot, no utensils or items to wash dishes with but there’s a double sink.. it’s been clean so far.

Very pleased with the pet friendly room. Very clean, beds were super comfortable. Nice location for pets, that you can walk the little side streets for your pets. Very safe, very clean. Staff was really friendly. Only cons are noise from a few semis at night on Rt. 39, toilet is really low (but that's a personal thing - I'm 6'5, and there is a vent in the bathroom, but not a true exhaust fan (which I prefer to get the humidity out of the bathroom when showing). Overall. I'm really pleased!

Please do not be deceived by the photographs on the website. My wife and I had a wonderful experience in Berlin and enjoyed both shopping and sightseeing. The people were also wonderful. Unfortunately, the hotel experience we had was horrendous. The room was dirty; with bugs all over the windowsill. The water pressure was abysmal. The blackout curtains were cheap and inadequate, letting in most of the street light. We had to check in at another location as ours was under "renovation". Additionally breakfast and coffee was also at that location. No turnover service if you stay consecutive days unless you drive to another location and inform them you may need more than two towels. Lastly, the manager, Jolene, was rude and unaccommodating when I tried to get some resolution. She begrudgingly sent a $50.00 refund after lying to me that her staff had spoke to my wife and informed her of the renovation. That conversation did not take place. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she did not reply back. I thought if she simply apologized and refunded one of our two days that would be fair. I plan on visiting Berlin at Christmas time but after the way i was treated will never stay in a Berlin Heritage Inn run hotel. i advise you to do the same.

Small rooms, VERY VERY VERY VERY dirty a/c filter on room a/c that was so dirty that air was limited through the unit and it produced a foul odor. NO one available on site available for assistance. WHY aren’t employees trained to check/ replace a/c units air filters that ANYONE could service?! Nice price,. PLEASE install hardware to prevent neighbors from SLAMMING their hotel room door and waking everyone up 84 times a night. Nice downtown location for waking distance to Berlin attractions!
