I have used BG Storage for the past two summer to store my daughter's college items during the summer, so we would not have to worry about bringing items home over the summer.
The first year there were no issues. So, we used it for a second year. The contract was month to month, and we were advised when we first started the contract to contact the storage unit in August to get a prorated invoice for August since she would not occupy it the whole month.
The first issue happened when the due date of her invoice changed. I reached out to see why the due date was changing and received a response that they were selling the business, and they apologized for any inconvenience. I continued to pay the invoices on the 10th because even though they are selling the business, it would not change the contract we signed.
August came around and it was time to get her last invoice prorated. I reached out by e-mail multiple times with no response. I called the number on the website, and it was disconnected. I attempted to e-mail again and still received no response. I then filed a formal complaint with the BBB. When I went to file the complaint with the BBB, there was a different business number listed. So before processing my complaint with the BBB, I attempted to call the number listed. I left a voicemail and never received a return call. So, I processed the complaint with the BBB. A few days after I processed the compliant, I miraculously received a prorated invoice. We went and retreived my daughters items on 8/17 and I advised my daughter to ensure she reached out so I could get my deposit back.
On 8/29/2024, I received a text from the current owner requesting my BG Storage Unit number. They advised they were closing sale to new owners tomorrow and wanted to get the issue closed. They also extended their apologies. I sent my receipts with the storage unit number and received my deposit refund a week later.
I just receive a notice that the business responded to the BBB complaint and advised that they refunded the money even though WE did not honor the contract. I tried resolving this amicably and take issue with businesses who cannot take accountability for their mishaps. My bill was paid, the storage unit was returned with no damage, so my deposit should have been sent with no issue. It was not a refund. I paid for the usage of the area and hopefully the new management will work better with responding to paying customers and resolving issues timely before they have to be escalated.

The owner is never around and does not respond to messages or pick up their phone. They are attempting to bill me after vacating the locker even though the term is over. Reporting to BBB.

The new owners made all of us little people who had personal items in storage move out by a certain date. When most of us were there on that Saturday, I got to see how bad the roof leak was. Plus I got to see at least one that had quite a bit of water standing in the unit. The new owner wanted to only rent to businesses. He wanted ultra clean looking spaces. It was a convenient location for me. I could walk or ride my bike over there. Looks like those days are gone.

At first, I liked the place. The owner was nice and the prices were fairly reasonable. He said I would get my deposit back after all of my stuff was gone. I turned in every payment on time, but never received my deposit back. I called the owner numerous times, but either never got an answer, or he said he would call me back, but never did. Overall, a very unorganized owner it seems like. I will never go back and I do not recommend going here.
