“One of my friends opened a “lifestyle” shoppe a few years ago, a central feature of which was a life-size Cinderella-type white coach (used as stunning display space in the showroom).
During the lead-up to the Grand Opening, I happened upon an adorable gallon-size wire coach. I thought it would make a wonderful accompanying floral piece on the shoppe’s counter. But I had no vision whatsoever as to how to pull this off, how to do it myself, or really any clue what a finished product could/should look like. Especially since the tiny coach wasn’t intended to hold flowers.
Walking into McKenzie’s I basically threw myself at the mercy of the guy who runs it day-to-day, and who does the vast majority of the arrangements.
He said that, utilizing a glass vase positioned just so, and doing this and that (I couldn’t exactly track or visualize), he thought he could do exactly what I’d love. And for $40.
When I picked it up, I was absolutely blown away. As was my friend when she received it.
As she is closing her shoppe now, I learned that she loved this tiny coach arrangement so much that she dried the arrangement and kept it in place this whole time. I wish I’d gotten a photo of it as a dried arrangement, but check out the fresh-cut piece of subtle and perfect artistry he accomplished. I couldn’t recommend McKenzie’s Flower Basket more.”
