I usually have high praises for them. but the last visit my dog had a physical and a mail trim. I was shocked to see that the price for a trim doubled from the last trim. I feel that they at least should informed their client of prices increases on some services.

We recently left a horrible practice and we couldn't be happier that we stumbled upon VCA! We've had two visits: one a same day emergency and the other a routine 'get to know our dog' visit. Both vets were extremely compassionate, as were the vet techs. Never did we feel rushed at either visit, which is a huge plus with me. They are our babies, and they deserve the best!

They are nice but extremely expensive. To pull a nail 225. I think it's a bit expensive.

My dog was bitten by another dog at a kennel while my family was on vacation. The kennel staff took our dog same day to Dr Pruden, I was not aware that our dog was injured and treated by this vet clinic until after it happened. Dr Pruden placed my dog on clindamycin, an inappropriate antibiotic choice for animal bites and she chose to staple close the 0.5 cm puncture wounds because our dog "tolerated the wound cleaning and they were fresh." These medical errors contributed to our dog having a 6" abscess form that required sedation, three drains placed (6 entry sites into skin), and left necrotic tissue that will require an additional sedation and surgical excision and closure. Our dog was then placed on adequate antibiotic, augmentin, which is the first line therapy. Please reconsider taking your beloved pets to this clinic.

The front desk staff are always nice and friendly and they try hard to work you in. There is one doc however who is nice, but always laughs, even when nothing is funny and approaches the animal quite tentatively. We've left with drugs we didn't need because of a 'just in case' non-diagnosis. More concerning than the money spent on unused high priced pharmaceuticals is the fact that drugs have side effects and to give antibiotics - 'just in case' when no bacteria was present in the urine - just doesn't feel right on many levels. So - not naming names - you'll know the laughing vet if you happen to get this person. Just doesn't inspire confidence - so we never go when that doc is seeing patients. Please be a steward for your pet and don't give antibiotics unless the animal has a bacterial infection. 'Just in case' is not acceptable and certainly is not a laughing matter. Unless you're the one laughing all the way to the bank.
