Rude!!!! Don't go here! They were so mean to my mom during her office visit today. They told her that her dog would get cancer if she didn't get her spayed! And told her that her dog was going to die if she didn't get all her vaccines done! I'm so over this clinic. So mean!! Hope you guys feel good about yourself being rude to a 60yr + woman.

***GRAPHIC PHOTO *** Took my 7 month old puppy to them ON HER DEATH BED because of parvo and THEY NEGLECTED HER. She was in their care for 5 days and she came home with matted feces on her, especially after her just recently being in for a UTI. They treated her for the UTI and our home care instructions are to keep her area clean, because of her Anatomy she is prone to UTIs . The OFFICE MANAGER denies they would release her in that condition and she "stands behind her techs word" even though I have picture and video evidence of the matted feces all over my dog, after being laid up in a bed for 5 days !!!! Ridiculous. Will not be getting anymore business from us and I DO NOT recommend Only gave them one star because I couldn't post without one.

Over the years I've dealt with several local vets and the occasional trip to Columbus to utilize their emergency hospital. I live in Muskingum county and last evening I could not find a vet to put a dog down. It's already a hard decision but it was one that needed to be done. NO ONE would accommodate where I live. Due to COVID and appointments needing to be made my options were drive to Buckeye Lake and pay several hundred dollars or wait until the end of the month for an appointment. On a whim I contacted GVC and am glad I did. This ladies were wonderful. They not only stayed late but were so kind and compassionate for the animal and the owner. It was a tearful situation that made a difficult loss more tolerable. I have only wonderful things to say about this staff. I'm grateful for finding this clinic and have chosen to use this clinic as my vet of choice. Great job ladies!!

The best vet doctor I've ever met. Amazing staff and service. Prices are amazing also, and if you can't afford they come up with different alternatives. Great place, my Rosie loves freshwater.

Please STOP browbeating us about neutering our dog who we've been bringing to you for 5 years. We have told you no repeatedly and yet you persist FOR YEARS, causing stress during the visits and at home and reopening the issue at almost every visit, even if we just come for a nail trim. Make a note in the file that we decline and STOP bringing it up endlessly. You're so pushy and one-sided about it. Please save the lectures and condescending attitude. When you press us for reasoning and we respond that we've read about possible downsides, you should respect our decision instead of replying "well, I can read online that Hitler is alive," as a way of superficially -- and super unprofessionally -- dismissing our concerns. How dare you. Our dog is healthy, does not run loose, and we may want to breed him. It's not complicated. You never mention the risks (including of anesthesia!), only the supposed benefits. Recent studies do NOT support a lot of the historical arguments for neutering. Maybe continue your education and peruse the latest research instead of lazily relying on what you were taught in school years (decades?) ago and blindly accepted without challenging conventional wisdom. In the past, boring holes into human skulls was the standard of care for mental health issues. Should we have stuck with that? In Norway, as of 2013, with few exceptions, it is ILLEGAL to de-sex healthy dogs. Maybe you should give some thought as to why. How is it that we come for a $15 nail trim and we end up leaving with $400 worth of procedures scheduled that we can't even afford, didn't request, and aren't medically necessary?? I get that you need to pay for that beautiful new building, but stop with the hard sell and arm twisting, especially since we've already said no multiple times and you deliver the pitch so rudely, every.single.time. We come for your help, not for another stress and argument in our lives. Here are just some of the possible risks associated with neutering, since you seem uninformed, under-informed, and/or biased: "Hip dysplasia -- twice as common in early-neutered males as intact males. No effect on females. "Knee ligament damage -- higher incidence in early-neutered males and females. "Lymphatic cancer -- three times more common in early neutered males than intact males. No effect in females. "Cancer of blood vessel walls -- four times more common in late-neutered than intact females. No effect in males. "Mast cell tumors -- significantly more common in late-neutered females. No effect in males. "In short, the researchers concluded that early and/or late neutering increased the risks of all five diseases in golden retrievers. Their study was restricted to one breed, but other studies have also reported deleterious consequences of de-sexing healthy dogs. For example, castrated elderly male dogs are at greater risk for dementia. And another recent study found that neutering increased aggression problems in female dogs." --- "When dealing with 100 percent responsible pet owners, my preference is to leave dogs intact whenever possible to avoid unnecessary risks of anesthesia (Dr. Karen Becker). *** "A 2014 study of Vizslas included over 2,500 dogs and revealed that dogs neutered or spayed at any age were at significantly increased risk for developing mast cell cancer, lymphoma, all other cancers, all cancers combined, and fear of storms, compared with intact Vizslas." --- Sources: Neutering Dogs: Effects on Joint Disorders and Cancers in Golden Retrievers The Decision to Neuter Pets Just Got More Complicated They Studied Dogs That Had Extreme Longevity and Guess What They Found? --- PS You told my partner that I can "call you" so that you can "educate me." This is the call. You stressed him and me for no good reason -- not for the first time. Stop. it.

Pricey, but friendly. Recently visited them within the past week. The vet was very caring, helpful, and the other employees were caring and nice as well.

We have been here for our pets on multiple occasions and been very happy with the conduct and the treatment of our animals. But when we called a week ago with sick animals you would have thought that it was a different place. They didn't understand anything said to them. They were rude on the phone and it was almost as if you were a bother. Because we were worried about a sick cat I decided to go anyway. I told them our cat is not able to handle people and we had a drug to calm him from another vet. I was put in the predicament that they didn't seem to get it, then told us not to give him the drug because they needed to see how he was. Unfortunately, I knew it meant a very upset and mean cat, but I did not give him the medicine. The people at the desk acted like we were a bother, much as they did on the phone. The person who saw us was friendly, but since they didn't have me give my cat his medicine, no one would touch him. He is a devil cat with strangers. So he had to stay overnight and be knocked out. The bill at the end for just him was over 300. They found worms and a few fleas, but couldn't tell us for sure what was wrong. They guessed a urinary infection and treated for that. He came home and never acted any better. He is still sick. Unfortunately, adding to the sick factor, he has been tramatized to the extent that he doesn't like us now. He also is way worse with vets. He goes crazy getting into the carrier, which was never an issue. Going there made him worse mentally, and no better health wise. They have a new beautiful building, but it's obvious that the priority is now money. Going to our current vet you have a full waiting room with a lot of people who have now left Guernsey Vet because of this issue. It's made it more difficult to get an appointment at the better vet. Not recommended.

Great emergency care just have to there before 10:00pm, called us back right away and meet us at the clinic in 20 minutes, quote for care was accurate. The vet also picked up that our dog had a heart murmur which no Vet has ever told us. They were also great at explaining what was happening to our dog, what are options are. Superior service when it counts.

This place should be shut down! Horrible people, they don't care about animals at all, they are all about money and that's all. An elderly woman brought her 14 year old dog in who was in immense pain, severely underweight, barely eating, peeing blood and while he had to live out in the cold. They tell the woman he is fine! They ran a bunch of unnecessary tests to get more money out of her. They said it was just worms! One week later he obviously got worse and worse while he has out in the cold alone and in a lot of pain. She finally took the poor dog in and had him put down. They should of put him out of his misery the first visit. They should of let her know there was no chance for him at his age and health. They told her he'd make it all winter like this! I have always gone to the animals clinic on 40 and I am so thankful I have. My animals deserve better.
