    “I have to mark the service in the pharmacy down. Not because the folks there don't try, but when Rite Aid shut down, and many folks tried Drug Mart instead, they were disappointed because Drug Mart had not anticipated the influx of potential new customers. This resulted in very slow service, and issues with filling prescriptions. I personally know people who became frustrated, and went elsewhere.”

    “Wonderful experience when we had to run in and grab a couple last minute items we forgot during our travels. Amazing help as I couldn't find the darn deodorant! All staff were great even when walking in right at opening time. I just have to say, seeing happy folks means a happy environment to work. Thank you for the great experience.”

Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
