Congratulations Lowes, you lost a customer. If you can't be bothered to have even one register open, I go elsewhere. At least today, I discovered and asked about the all self serve checkout before I wasted time shopping. If I wanted self service, I would go to Amazon, save money and get free delivery. You have sent a clear message that I should shop elsewhere.
I hope you new policy brings you extremely high theft rates like Walmart.

Courtney at checkout was professional and helped me get in touch with Chris so that he could help me get a custom piece of drywall. Great employees are hard to find. Courtney and Chris D. are great employees.

I recently purchased 18 gallons of paint for project at my home. The purchases were made just before Labor Day when Lowe's was offering a by 1, get a rebate for 1, sale. The items were running up by a cashier altogether. Within a week, I received a rebate for 4 individual gallons, roughly $195. By my calculation, the rebate was short roughly $160. After a few weeks, I called Lowe's rebate center and they told me that the reason that I did not get the full rebate was because the items were rung up together instead of separately on several different invoices. Obviously, I had no idea. The folks at the rebate center were very polite but insisted that there was nothing that they could do and directed me to go to the local store and ask for resolution. I ended up making 2 additional trips to the store without resolution. On the first trip, the assistant store manager seemed quite accusatory that this was my doing. On the second trip, the store manager would not even come to speak to me. I left without speaking to anybody after waiting for an additional 45 minutes. On a brighter note, Emily, one of the customer service folks, is a real gem. She is pleasant, interested and kind. Unfortunately, she has to work with the rest of that leadership team.
This encounter upsets me. I have been a loyal customer of Lowe's for well over 20 years. During that time, I have owned a couple of historical homes and spent well over $100,000 on home improvements. I just purchased an 1859 farmhouse which is less than 5 miles from the Centerville store. I have budgeted for $40,000 worth of material improvements to the home in the next 6 months-none of it will be spent at Lowe's.
I had had some really good interactions at the Miamisburg store in the Beavercreek store lately. In my mind, policy changes through the Lowe's organization have resulted in generally more favorable interactions aimed at building customer loyalty. Unfortunately, this store has not taken though that policy to heart. Lucky for me, we have lots of True Value hardware stores, Ace Hardware stores, Minard's and, if necessary, Home Depot. Someone will happily take my cash.
For anyone that didn’t see my follow up, I was contacted by Lowe’s and encouraged to call an 800 # for customer service to discuss my issue. After waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, I was told by the representative that there was nothing corporate could do and that any resolution would need to come from the store on Wilmington Pike.
So in effect, Lowe’s asked me to waste more of my time on a problem they wouldn’t address because, in truth, it looks better for them. I think this is insulting! Well, since my original post, I’ve bought lumber for a 400 sf deck and a new LG refrigerator from Home Depot in Centerville which is a mile away from the Lowe’s in question. They were awesome.

I paid with my credit card. Then I remembered I needed to break a $20 dollar bill. Three of the kids working here thought I was asking them to cure cancer.
Lord help the next generation because opening a register is an act of congress.

I wish I could give less than a 1* review. We paid upfront over $6000 for some fencing work at a rental property we were putting up for sale. The driveway was completely covered in clay and it took me over 3 hours to power wash the driveway and the house. The contractors went into a Florida room and ruined the carpet. They had no business going in the residence at all in the first place. We were told they would steam clean the carpet which never happened.
They came to our residence to do some split rail fencing work. Materials were delivered and blocked both the car ports and we were told it would be moved. It's a week later the job still not done and left garbage (left over materials, carboard, plastic, cigarette butts, etc.) everywhere and materials are still on the property and the carport still blocked.
Pleading for help does nothing. I have to have back surgery this week and I can't lift up my house cat let alone 17 50 pound bags of concrete.
No return of calls. Promises with no follow-up. Lies. And they got paid up front because that's their policy. That was the first warning sign I should've heeded. Never again. Do not waste your money. It's not worth the frustration.
Update: Bought a stove here because they had the model I wanted. There was no one at all in the appliance department! They run this mega-warehouse on a shoestring budget. No one answers the phone and no one is available in store either. Finally, the cryptkeeper shows up and starts to place the order (because it wasn’t in stock), but then tells me to place the order at the cashier. He further tells me by pointing and gesturing wildly where the electric cords are that I’ll need to buy but doesn’t offer to take me through the maze to find it.
The customer service folks were friendly and knowledgeable. Turns out I don’t need to buy a separate cord, it comes with the stove. Turns out they DO NOT offer a military discount on appliances.
I think I’ll try another store, not Lowes.

Large selection and it's easier to locate items here than in that other large hardware store. Great value and prices on a number of items. The curbside pickup is seamless and super easy to do.

Showed up at 830pm and store was empty. Walked around for 20 minutes trying to get help in plumbing to be told by three different people, "Brad should be over there." (There was no Brad.) The fourth person said he could not leave his department, someone may have a question. (There was no one else there.) Stopped on the way out and told a manager only to hear, "Wait and I'll see if I can find someone." Just go to Home Depot.*After reading other reviews I realize Lowes does a lot of apologizing but evidently no fireing or training.*
