Smart, professional, and courteous. These guys found a nail in my tire and repaired it in less than 10 minutes. Ask for Michael - he's the manager. Carl did the work with a smile and in record time. As a woman who doesn't always feel comfortable solving car problems, this is the place! No charge, either. Who DOES that?Amazing place that has my 100% loyalty. Fast, honest service and kindness goes a long way in my book.

I worked with Larry on the brakes for my 2017 Wrangler. This guy was awesome. He called me first thing in the morning and reassured me of the work he was going to be doing. He laid it all out and was very thorough. Not only was his work great, but he took the time to walk out to my Jeep with me after, and discuss the work as well as future recommendations. He and the Hyde Park store will have my future business. Great job!

I recently took my Mercedes E350 to the dealership to check the brakes. I was told that I needed new front rotors and brake pads for a cost of $1300. I decided to get a second opinion at Bob Sumerel Hyde Park as I’ve had fantastic service there in the past. To my surprise, the car didn’t even need brakes. They still have about 6 months of life in them. Thank you Bob Sumerel for your honesty and amazing service. This WILL be my place of choice for all my cars future repairs.

BEST tire service around! Most fair pricing ie for patching tires purchased there, even when unsure on warranty. Larry ( Mgr) is the Best, most courteous, considerate and professional of all the personnel at similar tire shops around. And believe me, I have decades of experience with them all…!

Went outside to go to work, noticed that tire was very low, tried adding air, to no avail.Pulled up to the location, they went to work immediately on a plug & patch repair. Tech was finished in about 20 minutes and when I went in to pay, the service writer said no charge!Asked are you sure while holding my wallet, he again said no charge, be on your way, have a good day! Thier kindness did make my day. Thanks again to all there.

I met Mike and Carl and they were fantastic! They were easy to work with and I called 9 other places and wouldn’t fit me in. I was trying to get back to my family and Mike fit me right in and I was out in 15 minutes. Thank you all!

I would strongly advise against bringing your car to Bob Summerall in Hyde Park for an oil change or any other service. I had a terrible experience with them two months ago when I brought my car in for an oil change. Not only did they fail to change the oil, but they also neglected to reattach the air duct connecting the air filter, causing it to flap around and not properly process air through my car's engine bay. Additionally, I strongly suspect that they stole my brand new battery and replaced it with an inferior one that is now capless (missing acid cap) spilling acid and losing its life rapidly. Despite their "polite associates" and claims of top-notch service, it is clear that the maintenance employees at this location are neglectful and may even try to sabotage your car so that you have to bring it back in. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all cost! See photo of the replaced battery that is caplles. Had to jerryrig with duct tape to extend the life for as long as I can.

The first time we took a care to Bob Sumerel Hyde Park the mechanic informed us that we needed to take our car to the dealership and demand a free repair because the problem was a known design flaw. That kind of honesty won me over as a customer. They have continued over the years to provide us with great service and honesty. At one point I needed a tire plugged. The associate pointed out that a AAA membership would only cost about $10 more than getting the tire plugged and the service would then be free. This is a great place!

I took my car here for the first time today for new tires + general maintenance. They were very professional and honest. It turns out my car didn’t even need all new tires, and instead of not telling me and charging me for new tires, they called me to let me know and let me decide if I wanted to proceed with getting new tires or not. I know where I’ll be bringing my car in the future for general maintenance…and new tires once I need them.

took my car in for electrical issues, gave them exact details of what was going on & even had my dome light & fuse in a bag for them so they could put them back in once the problem was fixed. kept my car overnight without calling to ask & make sure that was okay. i had to call in the morning to see what was even going on. they said “they were still working on it & they’d call me in an hour or two. proceeded to wait 4 more hours before i called & they keep me on hold for 30 minutes before i just hung up & went there in person. come to find out they have no idea how to fix any issues & now my side panel is cracked & the mechanic told me he put the fuse back in when in reality he didn’t. so i had to go buy a new fuse & put it in myself & it fixed 40% of the electrical issues. now i have to take it somewhere else to fix his mistakes after pulling my car apart to only mess up more electrical wires. so long story short, DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!

Just because I am younger looking, it doesn't mean you have to be disrespectful and disregard my concerns! See photo of my cap less battery that I had to jerryrig with duct tape so acid stays in for the time being before this battery dies.

My tire pressure sensor (TPMS) I believe was damaged when I had new tires put on a Rav4 at Bob Summeral's in Hyde Park Plaza. The TPMS are very sensitive and I've learned to use area air pumps, I even have my own gauge. Unfortunately in the past I have left after service and the TPMS light has been on. I am used to driving away from service with the light on and take myself to the nearest reliable air pump. After new tires were put on by a mechanic at the Hyde Park Bob Summeral Tires the sensor would not go off. I returned to Bob Summeral's to tell them I cannot get the new tires air pressure right. After a mechanic checked my tire's pressure and still the light still stayed on, "sometimes they go bad". He did not say (nor did I know) was the sensors can be damaged when new tires are being put on. I thought the sensors may have a fuse not understanding they are attached to the wheel and when a new tire is put on it can be damaged if not careful. Today the manager tried to tell me the sensors only last 5 to 7 years. My research found a quality TPMS lasts 7 to 12 years and that the most common way for them to fail is the battery life. ~The batteries on these sensors are only used when the tires are in motion so the age of the car is not as important as the milage.~ I have about 27k on my car. The manager did not know the battles are in use only when the tires are in motion. The TPMS stopped functioning correctly after new tires where installed and when I bought the vehicle back the same week the tires were put on I was only told "Sometimes they go bad." The mechanic didn't even check to see if the TPMS reset button had been reset. Nothing further was offered. I didn't know this made no sense with 27k miles on my car. The mechanic didn't even check to see if the TPMS reset button had been reset. When discussing replacing the sensor with my local mechanic he encouraged me to return to Bob Summeral Tire and Service in Hyde Park Plaza and explain what happened. I won't be returning to Bob Summeral and Service:1.) The manager didn't know about TPMS batteries. "An inertial switch wakes up the sensors when the tires begin to roll." vehicalfreak.com The age of the vehicle according to him was why the TPMS was not working. My local mechanic said they usually last until 70,000 miles and they are more ofter broken when new tires are put on since I only have 27k miles. 2.) When first I returned because I could not fill the new tires correctly all I was told was "Sometimes they go bad". They were not thorough or they were avoiding taking responsibility. If they were trained well the mechanic should've looked to see if the reset button had been used and after that looked further into the problem. I had just had new tires put on there.3.) The manager wanted to sell me a new TPMS. I don't think so!

I had some problems with the way they handled my car, but they reached out and gave a partial refund. Happy they had some sense to acknowledge a mistake when they made one
