Just skip this place and give your money to Home Depot. This Ace hardware is never stocked, and I’d happily purchase things here… if they had them. Im disappointed every time I go in. It’s quicker to go here than go to Home Depot, but I’ve learned that I am better off just going to Home Depot because I know they’ll have what I need on their shelves. Not sure what’s going on here, is it bad management or supply chain issues? Either way, they need to get it together.

went to get a replacement car key and was told it would be $2000 for a key for my 2008 truck
Edit to add: Ace replied as you can see below saying they told me $216 which is a lie. The guy who does the keys said was over $2000 and he was more shocked than I was mad he steered me to Larry's Locksmith across the street where I paid $91 after tax

I've been shopping at this location ever since it opened, and it used to be the kind of place I would visit several times per weekend, depending on what I was doing. In the past few years, it has really gone downhill.
The shelves are so consistently bare that it looks like they are going out of business. The "pardon our dust" sign that blocks off almost a quarter of the store has been up for at least a year. There are no changes coming.
I have to assume that most of their business is now from the relatively new truck rentals, and that's what the whole store looks like now: a dirty, poorly stocked truck rental office.
The Ace website will claim they have an item in stock, but when you arrive, you find that there is not only none of that item, but nothing even close. I bought the last of a very regular and common item several months ago, and on a recent trip it still hadn't been restocked.
This place won't be here this time next year, and that's too bad. It used to be great.

This location used to be my go to place for paint. Helpful, friendly, and well stocked. Now I advise anyone looking for paint to use other locations. It's not even the fact that the color matcher has been down since December, the attendant at the paint counter is the least helpful "paint expert" I've come across. Besides his attitude, he will claim he cannot do what you ask but if you drive down to mariemont they will do what you ask without hesitation and with a smile on their face. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra drive time to go to another location, in the end you will save yourself time and frustration.

They don’t ever have anything in stock. Every time I look online for something I need, it says they have it in stock, but when I get there it’s not in stock. The shelves are always bare. Not really sure what’s going on, but it needs to be fixed. Might just have to settle for the big stores like Home Depot or Lowes in Oakley.

The people that work there need to learn about. The product they sell

The new owner is not properly stocking this store. It's very sad because it's a beloved neighborhood staple, and the employees there are so knowledgeable and helpful. I love going in there, but unfortunately lately the owner has only ordered about half of what I need. It's becoming difficult to support a neighborhood business that does not support its own neighborhood.

Ok here we go and time is up.
I stopped into Ace Hardware (in Deer Park) to get a retractable curtain rod and I always park towards the back. I pulled up into a spot that I normally pull into in front of the store towards the back of the parking lot. Then this middle-aged gentleman came up and walked around to the front of my van looked in and then came around to the window. I rolled down the window and he said “Can I help you??” in an extremely condescending smug way. I said “Help me with what??“. He said “You can’t park here”. I said “I don’t understand this is a parking lot??” He then he said rudely “You need to move” again with a demeaning tone. Then I said “Where does it say that I can’t park here?” Then he said rudely “I said you can’t” and I asked “Are you the owner??” and he then said no “I’m the manager”. I then asked “The manager of the parking lot??”. He said rudely “The store manager”. I asked him his name. He smugly told me his name is ‘Barry Laruche’ he then chuckled. He then walked off with a stupid smirk on his face.
So, I immediately called, the corporate office and talked to a very nice lady name Angie and explained the situation. She was very helpful and was apologetic for his behavior. She said that since there were no clear signs stating that there was no parking allowed he had no right to ask me to move. I wanted him to hear her say this so I went back into the store and he was standing there with a smug look on his face, and I put her on speakerphone and he became even more rude and she could hear it. He kept telling me to “have a nice day“ and I left the store in frustration. I will never understand why people that are miserable will get into a customer service occupation. This was so unnecessary, a terrible situation and I felt humiliated by this ridiculous unhappy person.
If you have ever wanted to do me a solid please go and park towards the back of the parking lot of the Dillonvale shopping center in Deer Park in the front of the store and/or by commenting “Shame on you”.
I have been a customer there for years and will never go back. I have never had an issue with any of their branches until this guy.
I gave the corporate office 24 hours to resolve this unnecessary event and she said she would do her best to communicate with the owner. If it was not resolved I would share with as many people as I could find and a Google review. I have not heard back.

I have been shopping at this Ace for the past 15 years, and it used to be great. However, in the past two years or so, or new ownership, the products I want to buy are not in the shelves. Today there is a sale on air filters. The size I wanted was not in stock.
It’s not an odd size ( 16x20x1). Almost every time I go into this store, I come home empty handed and order what I need on Amazon. The only reason to go into this Ace is the post office.

People are friendly and try to help. I’m redoing my bathroom and need some basic items. Been here 5 times in the last couple days. They have had what I need once. The shelves are pretty bare and need to be more adequately stocked. I find myself running in, not finding what I need, then running down to Home Depot or Lowe’s to get what I need.

Uhaul there is a nightmare. Rude condescending staff, the uhaul guy proceeded to yell at me that I need to stop being on my phone. Didn't tell me why, just told me I'm screwing everything up. He thought because I was on the uhaul app I was messing him up. Please get eductated sir that's not how technology works. (As someone in the field and with lots of family in that field.) The system was malfunctioning and he was screaming a blaming me. I will not be coming here ever again. If you are women or someone of color please avoid this place! Or don't just know you will be mistreated.

I’ve loved this ACE for 11 of the past 12 years and enjoyed supporting a locally owned franchise. I could ALWAYS count on them having what I needed in stock. Unfortunately, over the past year a trip to this ACE now requires that I also drive to Home Depot after finding out that ACE might (if I’m lucky) have 1 of the several things I need. Last week I needed another gallon of paint mixed but they didn’t have the base in stock, so I had to switch to a different brand and finish. Today I needed a second gallon and now they are out of that base too, requiring I switch to yet another brand. The kind gentleman did not make me pay the higher price. However, going forward, I will save myself time and aggravation and drive straight to Home Depot which makes me sad. All of my neighbors have stopped shopping here for the same reason. Such a shame.
