I shop here often for business. Much better than Lowe's or Home Depot. They have more inside the store than you might think.

This store is fantastic. The employees are awesome. They know where EVERYTHING is. Never gave I been able to stump them on anything except one time a younger guy didn't know where something was - it was his first day. But he found someone who could help. They go above and beyond here asking what project I'm trying to complete and giving tips along the way. I LOVE MY ACE!!

Exceptional customer service & overall experience. Greeted the moment I walked in. Tremendously helpful at assisting me w/ all I needed. Genuine, trustworthy, & approachable. This was the best customer service I have received in the last 5 years (at least). I WILL be back and I WILL be recommending to anyone & everyone. I hope they all get raises, they deserve it.

If you are coming in already knowing what you need, expect to have to tell all 15 of the employees roaming the floor that you don’t need help. Also, if you are a tattooed person the employees will not make eye contact with you and will just gawk at your limbs the entire interaction *snap snap snap* my eyes are up here. Seriously uncomfortable. Maybe do some training on how to not be rude and annoying.

Prices are worse than any other hardware store in the area. During my last visit, upon entering the store, I was told to leave my bookbag at the counter. I was confused until learning this was to prevent theft. This offended me, "Do I look like I'm going to steal something? Should I have dressed nicer for a hardware store?" I left my bag at the counter and tried to move on with my errands. I was able to find some but not all of the things I was looking for, and was generally disappointed in the high prices.Then the bad part happened. I got to the checkout and the cashier, an older gentleman with hair fading to white, would not stop talking about it. He tried to get me on his side, that it was righteous to ask customers to leave their bags at the counter. He started quoting loss statistics from major retailers like Target. He asked, "What would you have us do?"I would have you let me shop in peace. I don't wish to be inconvenienced by a millionaire's fear of losing money. I do not wish to be patronized or berated about theft statistics, certainly not when the underlying assumption is an accusation towards me, the customer.I brought my bag in to carry my notebook, a pencil, and a measuring tape. All of which were needed to decide on which products to purchase. I'm never going to shop at this Ace Hardware, or any Ace Hardware owned by the franchisee again.

The staff here is extraordinarily helpful and friendly; everyone I encountered in my quick trip to pick up potting soil just before closing went out of their way to make it easy for me to find, carry, and buy what I needed.

In the past, I have had good experiences with this store and its staff. I have been going there almost every week for years. Before coming to Cincinnati I used to go to ACE in Princeton, NJ, which I think may be the best ACE in the country, very nicely designed with great products and helpful and knowledgeable staff. ACE in Hyde Park cannot really compare but still, I have enjoyed going there. However, today I had an appointment to program a car key I had ordered and paid almost $300 for in advance. The guy with whom I dealt, Sean Moore, must be new. At least I had not seen him before. He was rude and obnoxious and had no sense of service unlike most of the employees there. He said that it is common that keys don't work. When I suggested that they need to check better or at the very least order keys without requiring customers to pay in advance, he just shrugged his shoulders stating that that was the policy. For him, it was no big deal that customers had to take time off their busy schedules and pay a lot of money, make appointments, and wait in line, just to be told that their money and effort were a waste. I would strongly recommend avoiding this guy and ordering car keys from ACE in Hyde Park.
