Just a heads-up for anyone booking car rentals through Expedia or Avis. I reserved a vehicle through Expedia with Avis at 465 E Galbraith Rd in Cincinnati. When I arrived, the car wasn’t available. The Avis franchise refused to help, and basically told me it wasn’t his problem. Expedia only offered to “consider” a refund—no assistance finding a replacement vehicle for my urgent trip. I’ve filed complaints with both companies, but wanted to share this experience to warn others. If reliability matters to you, be cautious.
Update: The next day, Avis asked me to produce documentation for my review here (making this my problem). I hadn’t even finished my trip. And then today (two days later) I was assessed a “no-show” fee of $50 from Avis. Interesting that I have two Uber receipts from the rides I got to and from the dealer. Not to mention a text record of my exchange with Expedia. I think this sets a new low for the quality of customer service—for both Avis and Expedia. I wish I could give negative stars.

Negative stars, I decided to test my luck and rent here. WORST EXPERIENCE. I can not understate how rude the man behind the counter was. I had a reservation and was told there were no economy cars available. The man continued to say he may or may not be able to help me . When I asked directly if he has a car at the same rate I saw online, he told me to leave- rent elsewhere & that I was talking too much. I’ve never experienced such unsolicited rudeness when I approached with patience . Avis this is unacceptable. I will be filing a complaint to BBB/Ohio AG/ FTC. This is hardly a business.

I wish I could give them negative stars. Over 6 weeks in advance we booked a minivan from the Galbraith location. We called the morning of and they told us our minivan had not arrived yet and to call back later in the day. Eventually when we called back this afternoon they said they would NOT have it or anything comparable and that we needed to go to the airport location which is very very far away from our house. My husband and small child spent 3 hours standing in line at the airport location to be told when they reached the front that there is no minivan, there is no full size SUV, and that we can have a midsize SUV Or nothing. Through the entire process they were unapologetic, unprofessional, offered no discounts or compensation. Truly shocking the way the entire day has played out. Now I know why Enterprise charges double and I realize it's worth every dollar.

The front desk staff was un-professional at this location, doesn’t care or understand customer service. Reserved a car week ahead, but was offered a different segment which was still okay with me. But then when asked for clarity with Insurance and additional services, the response was unreasonable, kept asking to check with Avis corporate, almost threatened to cancel reservation at the spot upon asking for clarity. I was also asked to pickup from Airport location if I want the same car. I wouldn’t return to this location in future.

I had a reservation for 9am but didn't get a car until 11am. He didn't give me a contract to sign but said he did. He then judge me stating you must be smoking something strong and I never smoke a day in my life.
The car he gave me was bad for my family to drive had to go to another avis according to customer service but when I arrived no cars for me to exchange with. I called again and went to the airport but got denied there as well until I called again for a third time!
I was late to my appointment cost me extra.
I called avis to complain and for a refund for the horrible experience I had.

Place deserves negative stars, not to mention the workers need to be replaced. The lady charged me for gas even though I just filled it up, then told me she can’t do anything about the charge that I would need to contact their resolution center.. also as soon as I walked in a strong smell of armpits hit me in the face, and behind the desk was a lady who the smell was most likely coming from, and lazy eyed guy who was looking left and right at the same time who had the biggest attitude, which I don’t even ever stand to this day why..but if I looked liked that I guess I’d understand. Find a different place to get a rental.

Returned car on Tuesday keys in Dropbox. Keep getting texts saying I haven't returned the car!!! Called help desk they seem utterly unconcerned. Car also reeked of smoke when we got it.

Where do I begin?
(I'm granting two stars only because the employee was doing the best she could and was very professional and courteous).
Rented a compact car from Avis at this location (Galbraith Rd) on July 18 at noon. Showed up and there was no car available except for a Chevy Suburban that was a complete pigsty - and had been in an accident. Front passenger quarter panel, lens and passenger door dented. The side door had a smear of something brownish and appeared to possibly be fecal matter (???).
The interior was littered and smelled of cigarettes, onions and B.O.
The employee told me that’s all they had and I could take it or wait until possibly tomorrow for another vehicle. We were on a tight schedule so I took the Suburban and spent $$ and two hours on it just to make it bearable.
My wife called Avis customer service after we got home and spent another hour+ on the phone to get nothing but the good old runaround.
Extremely disappointed with Avis and will most likely never rent from them again.

Where do I even begin with the HORRIBLE service that we received from this location?! First of all, we had our reservation reserved on Friday, July 5th at 11:02 AM for Monday, July 8th at 2:00 PM. We got to the airport, took an Uber to the location to have NO ONE even there! We saw a sign that was like several others had posted. So I thought maybe it was one person working and they went to lunch or were in the back working as it was 1:50 PM by the time that we got there. So we would have patiently waited for them, but after walking around the entire building and realizing no one was there, I called the number. The "owner or manager", whoever answered the phone was rude about it. I was told that the truck that we reserved... "Had to have an oil change. The person that had to do it hadn't been there yet and wasn't even sure if they would make it today!". I was like okay we will take it for an oil change, if needed. At this point, we needed to get on the road for an appointment that we already had reserved coming up in an hour. I was hoping this would take maybe 15 minutes at most and we would be on the road. What aggravated me the most was no communication from the lady. We had arrived in Cincinnati from Houston at 1:00 PM and honestly I might not have been as mad assuming she would have called, emailed or even texted prior to our arrival to her location. That way we would have been able to accommodate at another location. So needless to say, we had to go down to Enterprise where we received a 5 star service from Taylor!

The 1 guy working there was rude, and just looked like he did not want to be there.
He just gave dry answers with no explanation.
Do better Avis, hire friendly and adequate staff and also have
more cars to suit your city needs!
I have never went to a car rental in any state I needed one in and NOTHING was available.
This was a urban location and someone needs to investigate it further to see what is going on. I will make a Tik Tok maybe about it in the future as well…

Had a rental reservation here. Showed up an hour before close and no one was there. They had a sign on the door with two phone numbers to call to get help and both numbers were out of service. Ended up wasting a lot of money as well 1.5 hours worth of time as I had to go get a car from a different way more expensive location. Would recommend never using this specific Avis location.
