I rent at the Kenwood Avis location often (usually 2-3 times per month). The service is fantastic! Amanda is always friendly, and she gives me clean and nice cars. The entire process is simple and customer friendly.

AVOID GOING HERE!!! The worse rental car experience that I've ever had. I was charged an additional day for being 5 minutes late. Literally 5 minutes. The young lady refused to give me any grace. Even outside of this, the service here was awful.

Disaster
Terrible all around experience. Employees blatantly disrespectful and unhelpful. Customer service gave wrong information and had me paying out of pocket, traveling all over town to their multiple locations only to still not end up with a car. A case lesson in “when trying to save money utterly backfired”
Just pay the extra money to book with a different company.

0/2, showed up twice to pick up a car and no car was available. If you want to rent a car, rent somewhere else. If you want to waste your time, book here.

They may be cheaper than the likes of Enterprise but when I rent from Enterprise I don't have to clean my own vehicle. When I got in my Avis rental the interior windows were so dirty I had to go directly to a store to buy cleaning products and use them immediately to avoid an accident. I had to clean the interior windshield 3 times before it was safe to operate.

They have cancelled my reservation due to not having cars available multiple times. The local employee usually calls a few hours ahead to let me know, but that doesn’t give me enough warning to find another car available that doesn’t require going to the airport for an extra $50-$60 in fees.

I booked the rental at the Kenwood location on a Monday for the upcoming Saturday morning. The night before the scheduled rental, the manager called me and said that they "didn't have the car" and I would have to go through customer service. While annoyed, I went through customer service who said that a similar vehicle was available at the same time and location. Five minutes before I was supposed to pick up the car on Saturday morning, the manager called me and told me he didn't have that car either. He never once apologized and just kept saying he "didn't have the car" and "they were a day behind on cars" (not even sure what that means). I had to Uber $50 to the airport to get a rental and then pay $670 when my original rental would have only cost $100. When I called customer service, they only offered to give me half of the money back (as opposed to the full difference between the original agreement and the last-minute inflated airport rental price). Not sure why I am being punished for this locations complete unpreparedness and inability to do their job. But now I am down hundreds of dollars and missed an important event just because this location couldn't follow through on the one thing they were supposed to do. Unbelievable.
UPDATE: I emailed Avis Customer Service as instructed below. They apologized and said my experience wasn't typical of Avis standards. They then said that, after reviewing all factors, they would not be issuing me an additional refund. When I asked them if they could explain why, they did not give any additional information and stopped responding to my emails. If anything, they proved that my experience was typical of terrible Avis standards. The company-wide penny-pinching and lack of transparency is truly shocking.

The worst customer service experience of our life! The employee was Abraham, and he was literary screaming at us in front of other customers in this location. I would tell you, this is beyond rudeness - I would call this employee a safety liability for Avis. We had rented a car at the airport and had a problem with the tires. We called the1-800 number and they directed us to the 8008 Hosbrook location in Cincinnati (closest to where we were staying). Upon walking in the the 8008 location we explained the situation and he immediately said I have no cars. I said they told us a few minutes ago that he had cars - he got angry and said "ok, I have cars but you are not getting one". He then screamed 'get out of here', "I don't care what the 1 800 person told you". Mind you this was in front of two other customers . We were in disbelief that this was actually happening. We ultimately went to the airport and made the exchange. We shared our experience at the 8008 location and they took our information and promised to follow up on the incident. Think twice before dealing with Avis locations off the airport.

This was the worst car rental experience I ever had! Check your rental and make sure there's a spare. They not only left me and my children stranded on the side of the highway til 1 a.m. but outside til 3 in the morning. The rep promised to a Lyft pick us up and take us to the nearest Avis location to get an exchanged vehicle. But he never called one, my kids and I had to find our own way in the middle of nowhere to a hotel and nearest Avis location. Not only that the location denied us the exchange. They didn't get anyone out to the car until 6a.m. I was not reimbursed. Please check the threads ? of all tired vs scratches and dents. My tire blew out while traveling down the highway, going 70. Talk about being scared and having to control the car.

Absolutely horrible… made a reservation over the phone and arrived to at least 4 more people waiting outside at a locked door well before closing time. After someone finally comes in, after I had been there waiting for at least 10 minutes, they just then tell everybody that there are no cars available for anyone and offers absolutely no help to anyone. Not only did they show me how horrible this location and it’s customer service is, the company as a whole showed me. I have rented through Avis before and this is not my first issue but after this any further rentals through this company will only be out of absolute necessity.
