I stumbled on this place purely by accident just a couple of weeks ago & after a follow-up visit the other day, learned a bit more about it. For $15 a month or $150 a year, you can become a member of Main Street's play library & take home items from their collection of toys & games, just like you would from the public library. You can borrow up to 4 items at a time & swap out one or two for something else while still enjoying the others over the course of the 2 week loan period. Coming from a public library background, I was a little taken aback by the membership price, but for every membership purchased, the Play Library gives a membership to a deserving family. They are also looking for volunteers. Definitely stop by the place - lots of old toys & games make for a fun trip down memory lane!

what a neat place in the inner city. Boardgames and other toys available for play and checkout. It is nice and clean, and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of main street. They rent out the place for special events, and it is a great thing to have in our city

Fun place to take your kids and play games. They also have different toys kids can play with while you play a game with a friend. Joni is awesome and super nice.

The Play Library is such an incredible place to visit for both kids and adults alike. I have taken the kids I babysit on multiple occasions and we always have such a great time. I was so excited to check out their new space on Main Street and it is absolutely beautiful. The main room when you walk in has some tables and practically every board game you can think of is available to play. The next room is more kid focused with TONS of board/games, blocks and manipulatives, cars, dress up and more! My favorite aspect of the room is the table that has swings instead of chairs! It is just so fun and whimsical. There is also a chair made entirely out of stuffed animals! You can become a member of the Play Library, and they have different levels of cost to check out different numbers of items at a time. I think this would be so great for families to have fresh toys and games to play with. Even if you don't want to become a member you can stop in their storefront just to play! This is a wonderful part of our community, and we are lucky to have it!

What a cool place! I came here for a special event and was very impressed with the space! It is bright and airy with very cool artwork. I have not used the library aspect of this so I cannot speak to that, but to come play here is awesome! (They offer both play at the store or a membership to borrow things library style). There are a ton of board games, costumes, and toys. They frequently do special events, even for adults, such as the 3rd Thursday of the month they do a fun Beer, Beverages, Snacks, and board games for $15. The proceeds go to their non profit! How cool is that?!! Whether kid or adult I can confidently say there is something for everyone here!

If you are a parent looking for a game changing play date, this is your place! The owners have set up a fresh, spacious and unique place even adults would enjoy! From board games, race cars to Rockemsockeem, put your cell down and enjoy being with your kids or if you just want to feel like a kid again!

The Play Library has a new location! We went to the grand opening at the new location on Main, and were totally blown away! The space is decorated in such a fun way, with black illustrations on white walls, all done by local artists. The redesigned space is going to be awesome for all of the events we were told they have coming up- adult events with beer and beard game, as well as classes and game nights for kiddos. I really think having this non profit on man is such a fun addition- something different from the bars and adult-centered businesses. There are toys, board games, puzzles, costumes- everything fun in one place. Everyone was super welcoming and offered to show us around. It's nice to have something welcoming to all people! I can't wait to see what they do with this new spot!

The Play Library has been open for half a year in their new spot in Over-the-Rhine, 1517 Elm Street. For a monthly fee, the Play Library lends out games and toys. What started as a popup shop near Findlay Market has proven to be popular enough to fill their own permanent location.
