I've unfortunately had a few issues with this pharmacy that prevent me from giving it five stars. First off, they don't take my insurance, which is fine, but they didn't tell me. I gave them my insurance information, they go back like they're running it, and come back to me to say it's applied and I paid for my meds since. I even confirmed that this was with insurance once or twice and they said yes. I later found out this was not the case, they haven't been billing insurance, and in fact as far as I can tell they don't even take it. I didn't think to check for some time, assuming prices were a bit higher than usual since I knew I wasn't at my deductible yet.
Another issue I had with this pharmacy is that I was never told when my prescription was ready. I would use their app to file a refill and then have to call to ask if it's ready before heading over. Minor annoyance, but I was willing to put up with it to support a local pharmacy.
The last straw was last month when I tried to refill my prescription and they told me it was out of stock and they didn't know when it would come back. I had enough left to last me, so I waited a few weeks and called back only to find out they will not be restocking my prescription at all anymore and that I have to find a new pharmacy. I'm very disappointed, and it would have been great to be informed of so I could have switched to a new pharmacy sooner. Maybe it was out of their control, who knows.
I still love this pharmacy for a lot of reasons. I strongly believe in supporting local pharmacies, and the service is really very good. The pharmacists there are always super nice and helpful. I still plan to get my generics and some household goods there. I'm disappointed I can't use them for my prescriptions anymore, and I only wish I didn't have those issues in the past. I never expected a fully featured CVS or Walgreens style app for a local pharmacy, but I will say I've been disappointed. Even still, I would encourage anyone to support our local pharmacy, assuming they'll carry your prescriptions. Service is good, prices are great even without insurance, they're local, they'll deliver, they have a walk up window, they have a lot going for them!

Schaeper's is the best! Recently my cat was diagnosed with cardiac disease. I am still getting used to giving her the heart medicine every day. I woke up on Saturday morning and didn't realize til late that I had run out. I never wanna be the person that is calling a business right before they are about to close asking them to do something for me. But I know the heart medicine is serious business! Long story short, they were sweet and helpful and accommodating to my last minute request. Won't happen again on my end, but I really appreciated it. Just wanted to say THANK YOU and Schaeper's is the best!!!

I just recently moved back to Cincinnati from Columbus, where there I used an apothecary that delivered because I no longer drive. So, when I discovered that Schaeper's delivers it was a blessing. I love this neighborhood pharmacy.

This is the best pharmacy I’ve ever been to.They are quick, kind, and they price like they are your neighbors.I’m uninsured and usually that means paying $300 a month to fill three prescriptions. They charge me the $50 it used to cost me WITH insurance. No need for (and failure of) the GoodRX method.Kill CVS. Long live Schaeper’s.

I really want to thank the staff here for always being nice and accomodating, with special thanks to the pharmacist. He helped me out of a pickle, I was previously getting my prescriptions from Walgreens and they had charged me for a three-month supply of Zoloft when I only got one month. They had never given me three month supply and I had just changed health insurance policies so I didn't think twice about why it was slightly more expensive for the same amount. I then ran out obviously and was withdrawing from my SSRI for weeks which, spoiler alert, really really sucks. With the holidays, Walgreens and my doctor's office were not as accessible but this didn't stop Schaeper's from asking for my needs. I am proud to now be giving my business, locally, and to workers who care and treat me like a person. I was too teary-eyed and overwhelmed to ask for the pharmacist's name but he was such a kind man who deserves to work in healthcare. Overall, could not recommend this experience and place enough - all the stars!

Schaeper's Pharmacy is the absolute perfect antidote to the corporate, dispassionate, could-care-less plague of big-box pharmacies (and one-hour photos with a Pizza Hut inside) under-serving and putting our communities in the back seat to their own medical care. It's truly awful.

Shapers has been our neighborhood drugstore almost forever. It's a wonderful place to stop by and get a little bit of candy for the children as well as your prescriptions. The staff are always quick and helpful.
