Ryan is absolutely phenomenal and is an encyclopedia of knowledge for every single kitty here. Having gone to numerous shelters, I’ve never encountered so many friendly, sweet cats like the scratching post. So thankful to have found my sweet baby boy Rey here.

These people were so kind. I went to their cookout today (June 1st, Saturday). I even got a tour of their shelter. Three were so many unique, little kitties. Please please please consider adopting one of their little furballs, I spent only minutes with them and they brought me so much joy. I can almost guarantee if you took one home every day would be filled with smiles and giggles. You wouldn't just be adopting a cat but a best furry friend!

This place is amazing!! Just taking a tour, you can tell they care immensely for these kitties. There’s different rooms to suit all the different personalities instead of one single big room like most other shelters. The cats are happy and not stressed. Ryan is the powerhouse of that place. He is an outstanding human being.

This is an amazing shelter. They go above and beyond to do everything and anything humanly possible to save and rescue as many cats and kittens as possible. Everyone that works/volunteers here takes wonderful care of these felines and gives so much love and time to these precious furbabies. Their goal is to save as many cats, kittens and pregnant cats as they can so they can give each kitty an opportunity to find their furrever family. They work tirelessly, to care for every cat they can. The Scratching Post has been around for over 30 year's and they have a great reputation within the Veterinarian community and the public. Anytime they are in dire need of help for food, litter, other supplies or even monetary donations they ask the public for help and people step up and come through. Because of this they are able to keep going and often offer lifesaving care to some of the cats in desperate need. It's a privilege to be able to have such an organization within our city. Because of them thousands of kitties have been rescued and had the opportunity to be given a life and adopted into their furrever family. They are a true blessing to our community and they are definitely Angels to all of the kitties they have rescued and continue to rescue over the years. I pray that God continues to bless everyone that works/volunteers at the Scratching Post. Thank you for caring so much for the cat community.

I love this organization. They go out of their way to help cats and the community. They are compassionate and caring for all of the cats that they help. They have helped myself and the community save so many cats that have been abandoned.

A great place to adopt a cat! The staff works very hard to keep the shelter clean. The cats are healthy and well fed.

They denied us because we are college students. We have had a cat before at college and he was perfectly fine and we cared for him. We could have made a good home for Bulldozer but instead we are incapable of having a cat per se “the stretching post.”

I have been a foster mom for The Scratching Post for several years now, ever since Ryan Collins took over as director. He is one of the most selfless people I know, always keeping the interest of the cats first and foremost. I don't know when he sleeps. He cares about each and every cat he meets and tries to do what is best for them . I have been to The Scratching Post Shelter more than several times, picking up and dropping off foster kitties. Things can be chaotic at times, but each and every resident cat is well taken care of. Ryan has years of experience with rescues and shelters. I think that shows. It's a tough business. I think that the shelter itself seems very well organized and certainly, the residents are well-treated and taken care of.

My wife and I LOVE this shelter. They are not only NO KILL but take great care of the kitties. I would volunteer there but would end up with 20 kitties in my house. This is a great charity to donate to and we do it as much as we can.

I really respect The Scratching Post cat shelter.! They certainly have the kitties best interest at heart. The executive director, Ryan Collins, always goes out of his way to do the best for his “family.” They have wish list Wednesday, where they identify to the public what their needs are for the shelter that particular week. That enables the community to participate in donating relevant supplies. They also have various community “get togethers” to encourage donations and activities. But one of the most importantfunctions is the education they participate in — like spay/neuter. They pass on info as to where/when these activities take place. Any ”specials” are passed on so the community is aware and can take advantage. This is a wonderful place!!!❤️❤️❤️

This place has a great set up for their cats waiting for adoption. They go above and beyond for the cats and kittens in their care. If you are looking to adopt or looking for a reputable rescue to volunteer time, food, money, toys etc to this is the place. I've worked with Ryan as a volunteer at fundraising events as well as foster and transport for several years now and look forward to continuing to help them in their mission.

The staff were excellent in helping me surrender mommy cat and her 3 kittens that needed care and to find homes after a family death …. I have visited multiple times and the care provided by staff has been very reassuring- they have helped me through a very trying time - would always recommend adopting from them after seeing the genuine care they provide!

The Scratching Post is an amazing rescue and shelter for kittens and cats. The staff and volunteers are so knowledgeable and helpful. We have made 2 adoptions this year and are so happy. We highly recommend The Scratching Post for your next feline friend!
