From pre planning my dad’s funeral to the day we laid him to rest the entire experience was seamless. Athena and Emily provided professional and compassionate advising and planning services. Every detail was executed perfectly. It was nice that I didn’t need to think or make decisions after my dad’s death. I felt completely supported during this time of loss.

My dad passed away last April and he already had Spring Grove Cemetery set up his funeral and burial. It was the best experience for such a difficult time. Emily was a great help with the whole process. After we laid my dad to rest, my wife and I decided to do the same for our kids and prearrange our funerals and burial through Spring Grove. We met with Doug and Kayla and got everything arranged. It only took about 2 hours to do all of it. Now our kids do not have to worry about it when we pass. I highly recommend using Spring Grove for your funeral and burial.

I had two encounters with the staff of Spring Grove cemetery. The first was a planning meeting I attended with the widow. The second was at the memorial service itself. In both situations, I experienced professional competence, clarity about practical details and costs, and great flexibility in responding to the needs of the family. The staff also helped to write and edit the obituary.
Even more essential, everyone we worked with showed concern and compassion. The attention to detail in the preparation for the visitation and the service made it possible for me, the family and everyone who attended to focus on the celebration of life itself. The space, the beverages and the food all contributed to a good experience for all.

My wife of sixty-four years and a friend for 70 years, Sudershan Saxena, MD (Dershi) passed away recently. We had moved to Cincinnati from Chicago area a little over two years ago to spend rest of our lives in a retirement community and to be near our family. Unfortunately, Dershi unexpectedly passed away last February. We both had spent our lives together as non-practicing Hindus. Thus, when time came to perform her last rites, I had hardly any idea of the various ancient rituals to perform. Being new to the city, I knew no one who could help me in this matter. As painful as it was, I decided to personally visit Spring Grove Funeral Home, a place where one of my fellow residents was buried a few weeks ago. As I entered the office of Spring Grove Funeral Home on Spring Grove Avenue I was unsure of kind of questions to ask and what to expect. It was also emotionally hard for me to face the inevitable as my wife was still alive and in an assistant living facility.
The staff at the funeral home welcomed me with open arms and made me feel comfortable! I was anxious about the details of performing rituals of a Hindu ceremony as we both were non-practicing Hindus. Special thanks to Chelsea Eckstein and her staff Emma and Jaime Hanna for helping me with the procedures and providing me with a Hindu Priest, who was good and communicative. He translated Sanskrit verses from Hindu scriptures and Gita in English for our benefit. All in all the whole ceremony was emotionally sensitive, graceful and very respectful. A large staff of the the Funeral Home also attended the ceremony which felt immensely supportive to me and my small family gathering.
A very special thanks to the Hindu Priest Mr. Pyush Joshi provided by Chelsea Eckstein of the Funeral Home. He not only performed all the appropriate Hindu Ceremonies for me and my family, he thoroughly explained about the essence of our birth, existence and death and the meaning of life. This, I believe, was essential for our emotional and spiritual support at such a difficult time for me and my family. He subsequently called me a few days later to enquire about my emotional health and my coping situation! This I felt, was far above and beyond my expectation! Again, this was possible only due excellent resources available at the Funeral Home.
After the cremation, I collected my wife's ashes again I emotionally felt great support and empathy. All in all, the Funeral Home and its entire staff treated me with respect, grace and sympathy during most difficult time of my life. I cannot say enough of how much I much I appreciated Home's help and support during my darkest moment.

The staff expressed genuine sympathy, which brought comfort during such a challenging moment. Spring Grove feels peaceful and is absolutely beautiful. Recently they helped our family celebrate my father’s life. While my brothers did most of the interacting with the staff I uploaded photos for a video collage that turned out beautiful. They did a good job at the viewing, funeral & burial fulfilling our desires on how each experience would be carried out. Thank you.

Spring Grove did a excellent job for the funeral services of my father. I like to thank Ron, Jillian, Emma, and other staff members that helped guided us in our decisions, and for the services offered.
Our family chose Spring Grove since most of our passed family members family and friends are at rest there. The beauty and peacefulness of the land is unmatched and we are very happy where my dad rests.

Chelsea did a fantastic job on my mom. Communication is key to me and she kept all lines of communication open. When I had a question after hours she were answered with no hesitation. I recommend SPRING GROVE for all your family needs.

Astonishingly terrible service. Incompetence or indifference? Some of each I think. Ignored phone calls. Tried to sell us things we had already paid for. Could not deliver on the even the simplest request. Repeatedly made commitments they then had no recollection of. We knew it was a premium price. We wrongly imagined the service would match it. Go elsewhere.

Was very well done and made very Intune with wife's character making it feel like her wishes was adhered too. The music and pictures slides were nice . Had several people very happy with way she was honored. The cards with her picture an poem was fitting . The visitors signing book with her life in pictures was very nice.

I cannot say enough about the care my family received from Spring Grove. Chelsea was so thoughtful, caring and helpful all along the way - willing to help with so many questions or requests the whole time leading up to the service. They were able to make livestream available which was a gift for those who could not travel. We also used the event center for a reception after and it was wonderful and the people we worked with were delightful. They made a painful time much easier and we are so grateful.
