Great coffee and location. I got the iced mocha and it was delicious! Prices are a little up there but the quality is top-notch.

Great lattes! Not dog friendly despite other reviews. They kindly apologized and said that my small well behaved dog was not welcome in the building and I promptly left. No hard feelings at all, just wanted to let other dog owners know.

A cute little coffee shop focused on community and connection. As a result this place does not offer Wi-Fi, but you can still work if you desire via a personal hotspot. The space was clean and the barista was very nice. Good strong matcha here.

All things to all delicious-beverage imbibing people? No. Urbana strives to be a certain kind of coffee shop; and that - the pretension of being different, not any one thing (other than the, ahem, ‘curated’ no-Wi-Fi environment, more on which in a moment) - ends up being its most distinctive characteristic. As such, the usual variables for which we assign marks - coffee, service, atmosphere, function as a place for work, relaxation or conversation - are harder to pin down, and end up being an odd composite of “pretty good” and, simultaneously, vague irritants.Maybe it is all because - while I genuinely respect the “mission” to stimulate meaningful interaction - the most noteworthy characteristic of the Urbana experience is the bit of heavy-handed social engineering (other shops manage this quite well - and without trumpeting a normative position on it - with ‘sip-and-sit’ policies and timed-with-purchase codes) that is the “no Wi-Fi” policy, complete with position statement on the wall. The ship is obviously not casting a wide net, content to let you appreciate how it differentiates itself - or not.It is what it is - and because Urbana says so at the outset and openly - it seems fairest to judge it on other merits. And those are all, in short, “pretty good”. The coffee is consistently decent if not great; and likewise for the pleasant but non-descript atmosphere, serviceably civil milquetoast hipster baristas of middling skill, and juuust-on-this-side-of-too-expensive (relative to the value received, in quantity and quality) pricing. This nets out to a 3.5-3.75 out of 5. I’m glad it’s in the neighborhood, do continue to go on occasion and never have a bad experience, but with many more shops inside the EWH/WH/OBryonville area, it has shuffled lower in the list recently.

1st starting off.... I am NOT a coffee drinker, like at all. ( I only ever had it when I was a young kid, when it was available at social functions, to look mature ? ).Flash forward to today,,,,, never really had, so don't know what I'm missing, nothing against it, I think a good coffee smells amazing.. but.. just not my thing. SOOOOOOOO.......I came here, meeting a friend for a light conversation, the atmosphere is perfect for sitting solo, or a group of 3-4. the aromas were outstanding & tickled my senses. Wish I was a coffee drinker .Very very very clean !!!!!! todos to that. The pastries were exquisite looking & again smelling.I will definitely 100% be back, & I'm not going for the coffee, I'll bring my coffee drinking friends , introduce them to UBC .I'll perhaps have a pastry & some of the best ice water I've had .Parking: Parking was easy , but of course anything could change at any given moment. But pretty sure , you'd be able to find some along any of the roads & near by.

Nice coffee shop but for some reason I don’t like the coffee taste, I ordered cappuccino. Maybe because I am used to coffee that tastes like deeper roots, Adesso and Carabello. Their coffee beans are just exactly what I like. I tried also hot matcha and it was excellent ??

As a remote worker, I like to change it up and support local businesses vs the big named chain coffee spots for a break in my day. I stopped in this place today looking for wifi and a hot cup of tea to work for an hour. They do not offer wifi so I will not return, their menu selection was good however.

Eh. Coffee was okay and overpriced. the service was unmemorably hipster - like one of those places that makes you think that they think you should be grateful to be there. Overpriced. It was very early, though. I'll give it another chance when I'm not just pissed about being awake. Decent atmosphere but nothing to write home about.

I used to go to Urbana a few times a week since I live in the neighborhood but unfortunately they have raised their prices to make a small drip coffee $4. It’s not affordable for me anymore and I won’t be returning.

It was my second visit and the Macchiatos I had today and a week before were both good. Though lacking latte art, I was quite happy with the quality of coffee, rich crema, and the density of milk foam. The espresso in today’s macchiato was rich in flavor, with just a suitable amount of sourness and no hint of excessive bitterness, which made my coffee very enjoyable. As it was Sunday afternoon, I could easily find an empty table, but I don’t know how crowded it would be on weekdays. There are quite a few tables outside but inside the space is relatively small. The only downside is finding a parking spot. I had to park a little far away and walk to the cafe for a few minutes. Overall, it is a great cafe with a good quality of coffee.

I can tell you this much! We're at Urbana at almost every morning... I usually grab a Vanilla latte which I've mentioned to everyone I know is the best at this location. Iced or hot it's what you need. The staff is always friendly and I love how you can sit and enjoy your company with no additional distractions. This is an unplugged location so no Wi-Fi but bring a friend to catch up or a book to get lost in. It's a beautiful place.

Service is very bad, very unwelcoming and staffs do not communicate well. I waited over 30 minutes for a drink. I went to check twice after people behind me got their orders and left… Almost impossible to get staffs’ attention after placing order. They finally made me my drink, and didn’t explain why my drink was missing.

Wife and I visited Urbana during a week long coffee "crawl". So glad we did!Urbana has such a cool vibe inside, very bright and warming, bicycle mounted on the wall. They even incorporated some of the art/vibe from buildings across the street. We had a latte and cortado, both very good, although not out favorite that week. Urbana Café is definitely better than your "average" coffee shop, and a fine choice if your nearby!
