Sorry to see so many bad reviews, I can understand why because I saw a few customers get very frustrated with the employees. Some even yelled, which was quite disturbing. The employees handled it well and just walked away from them. But these days scary things are happening and I guess going off-peak hours is best. Anyways, our experience with the passport service was easy because we had an appointment and our paperwork was completed beforehand. Have a nice day.

Outstanding service! Advice for anyone who has an issue there, ask for the Manager Michael Karcher. Best customer service I've received in years!

This is for the Delaware St branch that handles mail to my area. I get email notice of scanned mail that is on the way to my address. I have NEVER lost a piece of mail until one which appeared to be a check was NOT delivered. The day of scheduled delivery was a day when the usual mail carrier was substituted for a different guy. The check was either stolen after being scanned or stolen by the substitute carrier. Whoever it was is a PATHETIC L***** I doubt it was a check because I don't get checks in the mail for anything, for this very reason.

After multiple negative experiences with an employee at this location, Tessa, I have decided to leave a review in order to warn others. I have a disability that doesn't allow me to stand for very long periods of time --think increments of five minutes at a time-- so I went to the front of the line with a pick-up notice I had received in my PO box. Tessa was extremely hostile and rude and said, "I don't care. You have to go to the back of the line." There was an extremely long line going out the door. I once again informed her that I have a disability and that I was only requesting a package pick-up. Tessa then went on to call me rude and loudly asked me, "Why are you doing this to me?" I simply restated what I needed. After this experience with Tessa I don't feel welcome at this location anymore and I am unfortunate enough to have my PO box here.Long lines and slow service are commonplace here and I recommend you go to the location in Downtown San Mateo instead if you'd like to be treated like a human being.Run!

Completely Unprofessional, stopped answering phone calls 30 minutes prior to store closing. Absolutely ruined a set of graduation pictures, estimated value of $280 down the drain because mailperson refused to acknowledge instructions (PHOTOS- DO NOT BEND) shoved them straight into mail locker. Could not for the life of me get in touch with my cities USPS, since they ignore all calls coming in.

Scheduled an appointment to renew my passport, and the woman who was supposed to help my party was 30 minutes late. She had already been at the office before my appointment, but she just decided not to attend the scheduled appointment! Other staff members had to tell her to come multiple times before she actually came. When she finally came, she seemed more focused on helping a random person with a package instead of anyone with an actual appointment. There was already a line at of people who had appointments after me, but we all had to wait. In short, the service here was terrible, and you should save your time and efforts for other places.

Super slow service. Always a line, unfriendly staff. Very inefficient in every way. Wish it wasn't a service that was needed.

Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! Literally waited in line for almost an hour and I had an appointment to get my passport picture taken. Their system was down but even if it went back up the speed of the process was slow as molasses

Positive experience for their passport service. Made an appointment at this location online for passport service. Plenty of parking, and I showed up 10 min before the appointment. Turned out I had made a mistake on the form but the passport lady was super patient about it and was also super helpful giving me information on the timeline and what to expect.

A lying "service" handling abuse. They lie to you! Unattending the customer who has to wait while they cheat.

Worst post office I've ever dealt with and I've lived all over the country. I've lived here for a year and had an issue with about 50% of my packages that have been sent or received through this office. Whether they're lost for weeks in the back room, broken, or just forgot to deliver, the employees on the phone will always tell you the manager isn't there and tell you when to call back. Then when you call back they say the manager was in earlier and left already, then when you go in person it's the same story. UNLESS you make a scene and then they'll get a supervisor who have also been no help. These are the most INCOMPETENT USPS employees ever, they either don't know anything or they don't want to work so they lie to you and try to get you to handle as much on your own as possible. I needed a damage report done for an international package and was told to go home and do it online. I went home and googled it and USPS.com says it must be done in the office in person, so I go back and the supervisor says he'll take care of it. A week later and nothing. We've tried leaving a number to have supervisors call back about 10 times now and they've never called back. I DESPISE DEALING WITH MY MAIL NOW BECAUSE OF THIS POSTAL DEPARTMENT.

I had to make a return and was having trouble on how to ship it back. Luckily I was helped by Boba, the sweetest clerk I've met at any post office. She was able to assist me quickly and even helped me fix my label. Her service was so refreshing I hope everyone else gets to experience someone as courteous and knowledgeable as Boba.

This usps is so ghetto, the workers here all give attitude when assisting... and I mean, maybe if you stop focusing on being sassy and focus more on getting these boxes and envelopes moving then maybe the lines wouldn't be as long as they are. Then you when you confront them about it they act like scared hamsters at the pet store when you tap on the glass and they see a giant face looking at them... I literally despise coming here but I have to unfortunately because it's in my zip code... But I highly recommend the one on Ellsworth in downtown San Mateo... it looks amazing and the people working there actually give a s*** about helping you. So yeah downtown San Mateo is the spot to go to.
