Yet again, a tired old car from Avis. 60k+ miles, dents and stained seats. All the Avis folks were great. But the cars are just awful. Not worth the $$s.

Watch your receipt when returning your car at the Columbus Ohio Airport. They will "automatically" charge you for fuel when returning it full of fuel. They do not staff the return lot and at 730 in the morning the counter and preferred counter are not staffed so yiu get charged then have to waste time calling customer service to have the fuel charge removed. This has happened to me 3 times in 2 months.

I tried to call the rental center TWICE at Cleveland airport. No one ever answered. I used the touch tone option to get someone from a call center and it just disconnected. The first car I was given wreaked of cigarette and marijuana. How did anyone even think this was ok to rent out? The CarPlay would not work to use my GPS. The console screen just kept turning off while driving down the road. The heat/AC didn’t work. Hot air came out of the driver side vents while cold air came out of the passenger vents. I returned it the next day. Second car I was given, CarPlay would not work to use my GPS. Do you turn this off on purpose so people buy yours? That’s a garbage business policy. I asked someone to help me get it to work and he said “oh I don’t know, I just work here.” The woman who gave me my original keys was so rude. I was never given a rental agreement. The grand total bill is over $2000… but when I booked through Amex GBT, the estimated total was only $375ish. I will be calling for a bill correction. What happened, Avis? You used to be the best car rental company. This entire experience was unacceptable and I will go back to Hertz. This is how you lose business and customers. Looking at all these horrible reviews, this is a management issue. Clean house. Fire all managers and every employee. They are worthless.

Terrible service, waited over 1hr for a car on Feb 29, 2024. Was told all they have is mini vans, and tried to give me a compact for the same price as a full . Finally received the car and it was all scratched up. Rude customer service representative, who kept saying she had to leave to pickup her child. Lastly, was charged ($127 vs. $118) more than what was on the reservations when I returned the vehicle. Absolutely terrible service.

I rent cars every single week of the year and this Avis location is pretty awful.Car was given to me with half a tank. Car had a broken sun glass holder and it was filled with trash from previous renters. Windshield washer fluid was empty and car needed an oil change. What a mess.

As a frequent renter I from the Avis airport location at Cleveland, OH I have had multiple times when the car is not clean nor well maintained and ready for me. Instead, the vehicles have had low air pressure, dirty exteriors and side mirrors, maintenance issues with needing oil changes, mechanical attention to the auto start/stop system and a slipping transmission on a Buick. I have emailed the local Avis contact Mutiple times over the last couple years with the various issues and have only received one response back apologizing for their poor upkeep and standards.

I’ve been an Avis Preferred member for years. I rent cars often for in town and out of town. I rented a vehicle last year from this location while my car was being repaired. I made a reservation as I usually do. I changed the time for my reservation online which did not translate to the airport agents. My reservation was cancelled because I didn’t pick up at the original time. That’s ok. When I presented my debit card to rebook I was rudely told by the agent that they don’t accept debit cards. I informed her that I’d rented a car last year with the same payment method. She emphatically stated that couldn’t have been the case. I asked for a manager who was Jacob Robinson. I explained I’d rented before at that location. He also said no and I asked for the corporate number. He gave me the reservation phone number to call. I went to the side to make the call. As I’m on the phone Jacob waves his hand and rudely instructs me to “get out because they’re not renting a car to me”! I was not in anyone’s way nor was I belligerent. I was just trying to get answers and did not deserve that treatment. On top of all this my deposit is still being held.

I am a Chairman's Club member that rents in numerous locations worldwide. This location is one of the best, if not the best due to Nick, the operations manager. He was professional, provided me with outstanding service, personable, and easily rectified a minor issue at checkout. I highly recommend this location.

Horrible experience. I’m a long time loyal customer, and I will never rent from Avis again. I would like to be contacted by upper management, and NOT the “manager” who was on duty.
