We have been steady customers at the Fluffy Duck since they opened in 2016 until Covid hit & then as most did, we hunkered down, isolated at home trying to avoid the epidemic. So we finally made our way back because the owner & Chef Patissier Ben Woods, A CIA graduate, introduced the Kouign Amann to Cleveland when he opened Fluffy Duck. We were disappointed that it was no longer on the menu except as a special order. We have tried other versions of Kouign Amman at bakeries closer to our home but none compare to Ben's Fluffy Duck creation. We were also surprised to see reviews about the poor customer service as we have never seen that behavior from Ben or his father, Bill. So I felt compelled to write & add my perspective. My father was trained at the Cordon Bleu as a pastry chef & my younger brother was a baker in Europe for several years until he decided training dogs was much easier & allowed him more time to sleep later. Those who choose to bake or cook for others as a profession or avocation do so because their creation, so fleeting unlike material artists, nourishes more than just your body but delights your soul through sight, smell, texture & taste. To accomplish that, you start work @ 0200 every morning, procure fresh organic ingredients, preheat the ovens, prep the pans & baking sheets & if you're making croissants, you're spending 4 hours folding butter into the dough so it comes out light, flaky & multilayered, so thin that it melts in your mouth. It's stressful to recreate perfection every day but that's what Ben & Bill offer us 5 mornings a week. You become invested in your culinary art & temperamental because your standard is so high. When you have a small establishment, you want to be able to offer your dining customers a place to sit. We should be more mindful of others, appreciate how special people are & enjoy Fluffy Duck fare for how wonderful & sublime it truly is.We have enough serious troubles on our planet with war in Ukraine & Gaza, global warming, pollution, poverty & at home with another election fraught with misinformation & few choices. The coffee, chai, pastries & sandwiches at Fluffy Duck cannot be produced like fast food & that's why they are so delicious. The next time you take a bite of something, please reflect on the time & effort it took to get your food from the farm to your table. We are fortunate to have a pastry chef of Ben's caliber & a baker with Bill's experience in Cleveland.

Well the old strikes again. Ordered coffee and told in a rude way “we serve food here”. Probably one of the worst service I have ever seen, I guess the guy is just rude to everyone but coffee was good.

I've been there a few times and I found their food very fresh and delicious. The ham and cheese is quite good. The banh mi is an interpretation and not authentic but it's still quite good. Latte and cappuccino were good too relatively for this area. The older gentleman might be a tad grumpy at times but he was never rude to me and my friend whenever we visited in the morning. If folks understood that this is a small 2-man business running essentially a bakery (not lounge around type café with free Wi-Fi), people expectations would be more aligned and not bashed them for something they're not advertised to be.

Man oh man. I think these gentlemen if i can call them gentleman may need to hire someone for the front register that smiles and wakes up on the right side of the bed.I cant give more then one star even if the food was really good because from the moment i walked in i felt like i was a nuisance.Probably the worst service I’ve ever encountered.Sorry for stopping in and patronizing your business i didn’t mean to burden you. ???

By far the worst experience I’ve ever had in Cleveland. The old man taking my order was rude when my 18 month old daughter screamed when she saw a duck, which is her favorite animal. I’ll never set foot in that place again. Coffee was mediocre and pastry options are very limited. If you don’t want to serve people then ask someone else to take orders.

The best coffee, pastry and sandwiches in the area! Bakery is always fresh and absolutely delicious and coffee is just amazing. I used to live very close to the Fluffy Duck Cafe and that is how I initially found them. Several months ago I moved to another area, and there are plenty of cafes with bakery and coffee very close to my new house and most of them are really very nice. Yet, none of them has such delicious pastries and coffee as Fluffy Duck has. So I take every occasion and take additional time to come here. I usually take Latte with Orange Cardamon, this is my favorite. And I love all the pastries and all sandwiches served here (I have already tried most of them :)) The service is always very nice and friendly, the place is clean and comfortable. Just love this place and wishing them all the best of luck!

One of the most rude services I’ve ever encountered in my life. No food out and told me to wait. Then demanded I take my food to go instead of sitting inside.

The person who took my order was an absolute grouch, literally through the lid of my coffee cup at the countertop. When he asked if I wanted something to eat. I said no he replied well "This is what we do around here we do food not coffee".The Place was absolutely filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. There was no soap. The menu was handwritten in a sloppy way it's terrible, no wonder they have no business..

Greatest baked good you can get in Cleveland, the dad is also the rudest you can find in Cleveland. If you don't want to sell just coffee then stop selling it. It's not my problem that I just coffee and not a croissant. He always make comments that we are not a coffeshop and we are bakery.
