I have been taking my cars to John and the team at Larchmere Imports for over 20 years (since before it was Larchmere Imports). Why? Because I know I will get excellent customer service, a quality fix and a clear, understandable explanation of what was done. Better still, when the fix might be complex, I get that clear explanation in advance so I know what to expect. Great responsiveness for my hard-to-service Mini Countryman. As a foreign, standard-shift vehicle, I have challenges, and Jacob and the folks at Larchmere Imports do a great job of making it easy and correct. They were even able to fix mistakes left by a previous technician from another shop in the process.

Went here last year as I needed my summer wheels swapped with my winter wheels (have two full sets, different tires, different rims) so all I needed was the car jacked up and the sets switched. They were very quick and nice during the process (I waited for my vehicle, it took less than 2 hours.)This year, I planned the same scenario. I scheduled an appointment online and after not hearing back for a few days I called to confirm. They requested I come in a few hours earlier than I had scheduled for which I agreed to.When I arrived, an older gentleman (I would assume the owner) was outside speaking to a mechanic. He approached me immediately with an attitude because I blocked the garage with my car (there was no where else to park in the small back lot) and I told him I could move it wherever he wanted me to. He then asked "what exactly do you THINK you'll be getting done today" and I responded that I made an appointment to replace my wheels with the set in the back of my car. And he replied "Well I have to see if I even have the manpower to do that today." Already odd and rude toned but whatever maybe he was having a bad day. I went inside and waited 10 minutes until another man spoke to me saying things were taking longer with other jobs and they were short staffed, so he was unsure if he could help me today. I asked if I could come back later and he had "no idea when a lift would be free." Alright, fine, I get that things happen but a heads up would have been nice? I scheduled the appointment and called to confirm, you'd think if things were running late they'd call me to reschedule or something? He also stated they "don't do jobs where people wait in the shop for the repair" which is odd considering I did it last year AND they did not clarify that over the phone. Regardless, this man was much nicer and I can empathize with being short staffed but I would have appreciated a call.Overall it was a very odd and inconvenient for me. If the older man had not been so rude when I pulled in maybe I would feel differently but his attitude was atrocious. Ended up going to Firestone and they did it within two hours.

If you are a person of color do not support this business, the owner does not like people of color and looks down on them. His attitude towards colored people is terrible . Spend your money we’re you are appreciated

I needed a hurry-up appointment to run down the cause of a new front-end noise, in hopes it wouldn't prevent a planned road trip. Jacob got my car in first thing Monday, the Larchmere team gave every system a full going-over, and found all was well. And only charged me for an hour's labor, when I'll wager they spent much longer on their diagnostic work-up. Simply the best!Service: Vehicle Inspection

I have been looking for a car for about a month now and it’s been pretty rough. And after my experience here today, I’m realizing it’s because I truly didn’t feel comfortable with anyone else making this decision. Not only was I comfortable with the representative I was working with (Jacob) but it was so nice to have my questions answered in a legitimate way, and see that the whole establishment was really well kept as well. It’s like a true “mom and pop” feel where everyone knows each others name. :) The car I bought was reasonably priced and they really made it work for me given my situation. I’m not only grateful to have found this place, but totally plan on bringing it here to be regularly serviced as well. 5 stars!

They repaired my timing system, which was causing a "check engine" warning light and a failure of the e-check test. Without repair, I could not pass e-check and soon could not drive the car. In one day, they figutred out the problem and eliminated the check engine warning. The following day, I then passed e-check and the car rides better than ever!Service: Engine repair
