Michael Zone Recreation Center is a free, inner-city gym reflecting Cleveland's socialist heritage. Once sparkling clean in the 70s, it now has a dingy appearance similar to a Soviet-era bathhouse. The center offers a pool, weight room, and indoor water park, making it a popular spot for basketball, swimming, and community connection. Visitors can enjoy free showers and a sauna, but should bring towels and be cautious with valuables. While the facility can be messy and somewhat worn, it remains an important gathering place for the urban poor and those displaced by gentrification. It also features a baseball field named after a local coach.
They all kinds of activities besides sports going on. Like the CPP SOLAR RACE CAR. That CPP sponsor now. The kids got to design and race their cars against others in downtown Cleveland.
