I recently attended the Essential Pistol course held at Impact Shooting Center and taught by Shane Cardwell. I found it to be the single best handgun course of instruction I have ever received. Shane Cardwell is obviously a fantastic shooter, but his instructional skills are right up there as well. Tremendous detail was presented on the what, how and why without being dogmatic. I attended as an LEO using a duty rig and felt just welcome and at home as anywhere even though I was among the best shooters I’ve had the pleasure to witness in person. I knew where I stood going in (needing plenty of help), and I was not disappointed. Shane is a superb teacher and coach - he doesn’t just spew information at you, but explains, demonstrates, observes closely, and brings your attention to details you need to be picking up on - and then helps with corrections. This is all done in a friendly and engaging manner. Shane also gives just the right amount of encouragement to keep you motivated to improve. I paid for the class and ammo out of pocket and drove 3.5 hours with an overnight stay to take this two-day course, and it was well worth every bit of the time and money. In fact, it’s a ridiculous value for firearms training - highly recommended.

The best range around. I wish I had more time to go, but unfortunately I don’t. Anyways, everyone here is great and they have by far the best range in the city. I will always have a membership even if I don’t have the time to go as much as I would like.

We got rained out. However, we like IMPACT. It is an outside range that has enough ranges right now with the number of people using the facility. We prefer being outside.

My husband and I took the essential pistol class this past weekend at Impact. What a great experience. Shane, Bryan and Pete did an excellent job with their instruction and tending to each individual’s strengths/weaknesses. The knowledge and skill set you leave with is impeccable. Days later I’m still running the class through my head and talking my husbands ear off about it. I’m eager to go back and continue training with the fundamentals learned. Highly recommend this class for any level shooter. Thank you guys for having us !

Just took Pistol 1 and 2 course this past weekend and let me tell you, this place rocks. Bottom-line, I have no other words for it. All of the instructors and owners of this establishment are amazing people, and offer amazing instruction. The effort and care they put in to their courses and you personally shows how passionate they really are about firearms, and that isn’t something you come by a lot. Shoutout to Shane for providing me with this experience and reinvigorating my passion for firearms. Will definitely be looking to get a membership in the short future!

Amazing range. Took the Essential Pistol course and it was better than I was hoping for. The instructors were fantastic and took time to work with each student individually. I started the course feeling like I could barely shoot and ended feeling confident with my pistol and being able to draw, fire, and transition between targets while moving. Thanks to everyone for making it an awesome weekend!

I had my first experience with impact shooting center today at their aiwb class and it was awesome. Shane does an amazing job coaching and teaching the class. A lot of one on one work. The range is one of the nicest and well kept ones I have ever been to, I felt very safe the whole time I was there. I was treated like a member that had been going there for years from the minute I walked in for class and ultimately ended up becoming a member by the end of the day. If you’re on the fence about becoming a member somewhere or taking a class there go for it. You won’t be disappointed. 10/10 this was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time.
