We went to the lodge and restaurant for a special Christmas outing. The decorations were beautiful and the grounds were very pretty.
The restaurant had a good selection of reasonable priced options. The service was good and it put us in the holiday spirit..

My girlfriend and I took our first trip ever together this past weekend, and this place did not disappoint! We absolutely loved this place! Beautiful/clean building and rooms, delicious food/coffee, and very helpful workers! Also has countless activities to do while on the property, and even more activities off the property that are close by. A very quiet, cozy, romantic/relaxing place for a getaway, and for a great price!
Rooms: Our room was perfect! Log cabin room feel, and very clean and cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Also had a great view of the lake!
Nearby activities: My girlfriend and I spent two nights here and participated in many great activities that are close to the lodge. These include horse back riding, swimming at the beach, visiting the nature center, and hiking many of the trails! There are also many great activities on the lodge property that we participated in including swimming in the pool, playing cornhole, playing games in the arcade room, and grabbing some drinks at the lounge and watching the sunset on the pier.
Food & drinks: The Smokehouse Restaurant food was delicious! From their breakfast to dinner, all high quality food for a great price! The pizza at the Lounge was also delicious and reasonably priced as well!

The lodge has good food, prices but it's not handicapped accessible. The front door is automatic, and the shower in our room is handicap accessible! That's it. My husband got me a wheelchair, the first one was so small I needed a shoe horn to get me out of it. So he went back to get another and it was too big to go through the doors. None of the other doors are handicapped accessible.
Your menu should have senior size portions too. The food was delicious,! But older people don't eat that much!
Rooms: You need a door jam so you can bring in your luggage!
Nearby activities: My husband and I drive around taking pictures. If it's feasible I will use my mobility scooter on the paths.
Safety: Very safe.
Walkability: If I was in a walker or a wheelchair I would have a problem getting around by myself!

I've been here many times over the years, for either family reunions or weekend getaways with my husband. I cannot speak on recent overnight stays in the rooms at the lodge itself, but eating and wandering around there is always very nice. My husband and I usually stay at the cabins, and we love those! The surrounding woods are also beautiful, especially in the Fall, when we go the most. Having easy access to a fun town like Oxford is a plus as well. If you want a simple weekend getaway, I recommend Hueston Woods!

Very beautiful location with lots of activities to do. Hotel is run down and needs lots of renovations. Pool is nice but concrete around pool and other minor items need to be updated here too. The restaurant food was mediocre, coffee shop and bar were closed most of the time when they should have been open. Very over priced for what you’re getting.

My wife and I stayed at Hueston Woods Lodge from July 11-14, 2024. Upon arrival, we walked into the lobby and were quickly greeted by the front desk staff. The staff was very friendly, kindly answered our questions, and helped make the check in process very seamless. After check in, we arrived at our room and were very happy to have a beautiful view of Lake Acton. You could see the sun shine off of the water and it was very peaceful to drink coffee, have dinner, and conversation on our patio overlooking the lake. The room itself was a good size, clean, and had a nice king size bed. We had a microwave and a fridge, which made it very helpful for the leftovers that we had and to store the food that we brought in a cool area. The indoor pool was closed due to repairs and I hope that the repairs are completed in time for the winter so that guests can enjoy that amenity. Thankfully, the outdoor pool was open and was very active with guests of all ages. The shallow end of the pool is 3-4 feet deep, but the deep end of the pool is 9 feet deep. The shallow and deep end of the pool are divided by a rope buoy. The pool does get crowded in the early part of the afternoon due to the heat and the indoor pool being closed, but we did not have an issue getting the water and finding an area to swim. The Smokehouse restaurant had a good menu of salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, and appetizers. I am gluten free and the waitress was very knowledgeable and made sure that they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The arcade had at least 8 games, which we appreciated since they were throwback games. We loved playing the Jurassic Park shooting game, air hockey, ski ball, the Fast & Furious driving game, and basketball. You can get 100 credits for $10, which is actually pretty affordable. Most of the games are 11 credits, so we would recommend that if you have kids or just like playing arcade games. The lodge is surrounded by more than 12 trails, lake acton, a beach area, disc golf, an archery range, marina, and much more! We had a great time going for a walk on the Cedar Falls trail, Haiku trail, and Wood Lick trail. We look forward to staying at the lodge again.

The food at the Smokehouse is shockingly delicious. We ate there for dinner and breakfast and couldn't not believe the quality. They cut no corners. We stayed in the premium cabin and it was okay. Bed was hard, view obscured but I'm still giving 5 stars because I love everything else about this place. Next time we will stay in the lodge. Love live the views and the pool and how kind the staff is!

Enjoyed delicious salmon and broccoli for supper at the Lodge's Smokehouse restaurant. Afterward, my daughter and I had delicious cocktails from the Lodge bar, then enjoyed the annual fireworks with her and grandchildren. It was a wonderful time and the D.J. was great, keeping the music, dancing and fun going!
