About Nationwide Children's Hospital Emergency Room
The Abercrombie & Fitch Emergency Center receives mixed reviews highlighting both significant strengths and notable frustrations. The medical staff, including ER nurses and doctors and the 9th floor staff, are consistently praised as amazing, friendly, warm, knowledgeable, efficient, and great. They do an excellent and precise job, make patients comfortable, and provide good follow-up care, including phone calls to check on patients. The facility itself is described as qualified, with everything you could possibly need, including pharmacies. However, the experience is often marred by very long wait times. Patients report waiting about 2 hours, which was less than expected in one instance, but another details a 13-hour ordeal with a 6-hour wait for a room. The process can slow down considerably after initial intake. A major point of criticism involves the call center, where one parent was unable to speak to an on-call doctor about new symptoms and encountered an unhelpful staff member. This was a crucial failure given the long drive times and ER wait times many patients face. Security procedures, including wearing a mask, metal detectors, and bag searches, are noted. Parking costs two dollars, but the ticket can be stamped for free. For serious issues, many parents state they will always recommend and bring their children to this hospital despite the drawbacks, citing the staff's expertise as the primary reason.
