Had me return the car to a line of parked cars rather than a spot and said to leave the keys in the vehicle. Three days later, I got a text that the car hadn't been returned, called, and was told they'd fix that. Two days after that, I got another text that the car hadn't been returned, called, and I think they actually fixed it this time. It should not take multiple phone calls and a week of stress for you to register a car as turned in! If you can't keep track of cars as they're being turned in, you need a better system in place!

I was extremely disappointed with the vehicle we received. I am writing this as a person who has never owned a new vehicle is strictly a used car buyer. I was not coming in with huge expectations, just a normal amount of reasonable expectations.Firstly there was a huge dent in the back of the gate door. I am not talking small dent, I am talking I was afraid it wasn’t going to latch properly because of the size. I told an attendant and he said when you leave just the front person know, and they will make a note of it.Secondly the car smelled of cigarettes. The idea that Avis would allow people to smoke in their cars is beyond me. As I was setting up my children’s car seats all the doors were open. I could smell it faintly at first, so it did not seem bad when all the doors were open. As soon as we were closed in it was gross. Turn on the heat and it just baked it in even more. Again, I told the attendant who said we have a spray for that, but when he saw my kids in the car, he said oh you have babies “I can’t spray it”. He just noted that I was not the smoker.I went to open up the the sun roof, but when I opened up the shade portion a HUGE sticky explosion of soda or soda like substance was splattered all over the glass portion of the window. That same substance was revealed when my child pulled down the cup holder rest in the back seat. I should not have to clean a car I am playing for to use.Have some pride- check your cars before you send them out. It’s a shame because the car itself was newer, if Avis took care of the hygienic maintenance the experience would have been better.I don’t need to recommend or not recommend Avis, I was traveling with 12 other people - four different cars, two other rental companies. It turned into a long standing joke instantly with the huge dent. Then everyone was slightly horrified by the state of the inside. I honestly ended up putting our car seats in other people’s vehicles and only used our car to a from the airport.I will use one of the other companies our friends used as they were what you would expect when renting a car.

Not giving Avis at the Columbus Ohio airport even 1 star. They gave me a car that had stains on the seats, and after having to stop at a tire shop on my way to an event I find out that all 4 tires were overinflated to a dangerous level. After waiting on the phone for over an hour and a half, they said to drive it (on the highway) to the airport and get another car, or they could send a wrecker, but if THEY determined it was fine I would be charged for the wrecker. Very disappointed in their customer service and fact that they would put me in a car in that condition.

Everybody is so quick to write a bad review when something is forgotten, but I wanted to take time to PRAISE this location. MORE THAN ONCE we have had great service; most recently when BEN helped us with a rental. Truly I have found that the service at this spot by the desk personnel is above average and at times (like with Ben), exceptional! Thank you Avis team at John Glenn Intl Airport!!

Rented a Ford Mach e but got a Kia something. 200 mile range. No written contract difference for the ev and no one seemed to know what the charges per ke-hour would be if the vehicle was below 75% when returned. The most annoying thing about this rental was the lack of a charging cord with the vehicle. I was parked at a residence where I could have plugged in with a cable. This reduced the utility of the vehicle.

I have always used Avis/Budget rent a car when traveling. I recommend to any one flying into the Columbus airport! The manager Neisha was extremely helpful and made sure I got the car that I booked! Thanks again!R TapeBudget FastBreak Member

I’ll start with the positives: friendly staff at the counter. Nice vehicle. Easy in/ out. However, I was charged for fuel after returning the car with a FULL tank, despite picking it up with only 3/4 of a tank. My co-worker had a similar experience at this location, so make sure you take pictures of your dash before and after and review your receipt carefully. The customer service rep over the phone DID take care of the issue quickly and credited my bill immediately.

Great experience with renting a car from Avis. The customer service rep at the desk during pickup was amazing and could not have made this process any easier or more enjoyable.

Well... after using Hertz for many years, I got into their DNR list in Columbus Ohio for an incident that was paid for my credit card more than a year ago. Made reservation 2 weeks in advance and when I go pick up car ... got denied. That is when I noticed DNR (Do Not Rent) on my rental agreement. Well ... thank you AVIS for coming thru. Nice an easy... within 5 minutes I had my car, I was even upgraded to an SUV. Thank you so much AVIS. Got a new business client!!!

They charge you for gas even tho you tell them you'll fill it up. So they add $ 17.00 more to your bill. NEVER again for Avis.

It took 5 cars to get one that was not broken--broken windshield, keys lost, oversize boat, and finally terrably unbalanced tires. Finally, I was overcharged $100 from the agreement. A mickey mouse company,
