Lots of chiefs, but no Indians. Our small kitchen has been under construction for a month waiting on them to finish the counter top and small backsplash project. They just confirmed they won’t come back with the rest of the backsplash for two more weeks, while also confirming they will receive the rest of our tile tomorrow. Terrible service!

Updated review- Janet from Distinctive (Manager of sales I believe) was prompt to reach out to me after reading my review and was extremely pleasant to work with. She expressed her apologies for all we had dealt with, offered us compensation for our troubles, and even more than that- a reasonable solution… beautiful countertops in a prompt timeframe. Our countertops were installed today and the crew showed up when they said they’d be there and did a wonderful job. We are so glad we were able to get our original choice of countertop and we can’t wait to move into our house. Thank you Janet for making this possible! I wish everyone from your sales team was as easy to work with as you were. ?
To say this place was a nightmare to deal with is an understatement. I will never, and won’t ever recommend anyone I know to use this business. Our project started with this company on June 13th, 2024. We picked out our countertops through our cabinet company they work closely with. We were very excited, we loved the countertops we picked out. Flash forward to 3 weeks before the expected move-in date of our new home. Distinctive surfaces comes out to template for our countertops on a Tuesday. The following Monday they call and say the countertops we picked out in June (mind you, it’s early September now) are back ordered now and stuck on a ship somewhere. They advise me to come to their store and pick out a similar product they HAVE AVAILABLE. I drive myself over an hour there, agree to the change and they “get it ordered.” This was a Friday. The following Monday. Now another week delayed, they call again, saying this product (that was just available) is ALSO delayed. Could be two weeks, could be two months. They aren’t sure how long it will be. Again, this is the ONLY thing keeping us from moving into our house. So to speed process up we are backed into corner to either change to different company which will likely delay us more time, or choose ANOTHER different product. So we choose another product. Third countertop. This time, it’s a $2,500 up charge for us. Originally almost $3,500, they agreed to cover a percent of the up-charge. However, they told us they had it in-stock, in Cleveland (3 hours from us) and could get it ASAP and install it, so despite all the horrible gut feelings I had to get the hell out of this situation we pulled the plug to do it and be done with it. Flash forward a week and a half, they send us spec sheet for the cut, tell us an install date (another week out totaling for a month from template date), and we receive a call saying this said product is, GUESS WHAT, also stuck in a boat somewhere and they don’t know when they will get it?! How did it get on a boat from Cleveland to Columbus? Did they ever have it? Who knows. Regardless we are currently on our way to Creative Countertops in Englewood where they have 7 slabs of our original pick countertop available and will be installing in 2 weeks! So glad we left this disastrous company and all they stand for. Do yourself a favor and do not give them your business. This place is a joke.

I recently had Bobby Baker from Distinctive Kitchen work on my granite countertops. He did an EXCELLENT job and took so much time to make sure my countertops were fixed properly and perfectly. Bobby is an honest , knowledgeable, and energetic person. You will not be disappointed with Distinctive Kitchen if Bobby is your installer!

Disappointed for many reasons!
Went to Distinctive Kitchen for laminate countertops. As salesman was completing purchase for laminate, he quickly left to talk to his boss. He came back and told us, with the sale they have going on with quartz it would be the same price if not a few hundred dollars cheaper than if we went with the laminate we already picked out. We decided to go with quartz and went with least expensive quartz they offered; the total cost was a grand more than the laminate. Disappointment #1.
Joey Vanhorn came out to complete the countertop template. During his visit, he informed us we would need to supply bracing on one of our walls for the quartz countertop. We installed 2 heavy duty brackets for this. Project manager, Christopher Brown, suggested 3 brackets so we installed another one. Upon install, we were told there needed to be additional bracing under the seam, which was on a different wall. We didn't have an additional bracket. We settled on the installation techs cutting a 2 x 4 and screwing it into our existing cabinet as a brace. Disappointment #2.
Install took about 6 hours. The backsplash isn't square to the countertop, backsplash is leaning forward. There are so many issues with the silicone job as pictured. Disappointment #3.
The countertop looks nice but now we're left to fix all of these issues.

I will begin by saying, I have been in construction and maintenance for nearly 50 years. My project started out poorly. They initially stated they didn’t service my area, while Lowe’s insisted they did. I should have discontinued the project with Lowe’s at that point. The salesman at Lowe’s insisted they served my area, so I continued. The project manager contacted me and said they would take care of my counter top needs at which time I informed her of the age of the house and that the demolition would be challenging, which is why I wasn’t doing it myself. After they sent the measurement individual out, I was again contacted by the project manager, who, after beating around the bush for 20 minutes, informed me that they wanted me to hire an additional contractor to remove the old countertop, then they would install the new one. NO offer of compensation or reduction in price. To most informed individuals, you want as few contractors working on a single project as possible. So I opted to discontinue this project with them. When talking to the individual about reimbursing my original deposit, I was informed they would only provide me with a partial reimbursement (they sent the guy out to measure). Bottom line(in my book), if they only want the easy jobs, then they certainly couldn’t know what they’re doing. If there was option for zero stars, they would have gotten ZERO stars.
Update in response to owner;
The project manager TOLD me to hire an outside contractor for the removal. You can tell yourself whatever you want to make yourself look better and feel good, but I know the truth. When she told there could be some damage, I understood, this isn’t my first rodeo, there’s always a possibility of damage. She was unwilling to take on the demolition. Therefore, she was unwilling to take on the project in whole. You have lost a customer and several more potential customers.

Super rude from the front desk lady to the salesman. As someone that works in sales myself I always find it funny when people act like you are a burden to work with…. lol

Rich and Dayne installed new countertops for us. They were very professional, courteous, careful when carrying in large pieces of quartz, and did a phenomenal job mixing up a colored caulk to fill in a seam in the kitchen island countertop.

Rich Street just finished installing my new countertop. It looks amazing! I was worried about the seams but you can’t tell they are there. Him and his crew did a good job and cleaned up before they left. Thanks for a job well done!
