Wexner medical center is the best hospital ever. I once hit my head and needed to have stitches in my face. I thought my life was over. I thought I was going to look like Frankenstein and have to pay thousands of dollars for the rest of my life to have the scar treated, smoothened, and lightened. It was my worst nightmare come true. However, Wexner medical center saved me. Matt, an RN, gave me 11 stitches and to this day I have had no work done and people cannot tell that I ever had stitches there. Once I tell people I had stitches there- they literally stare at me trying to figure out which side has the scar. My family members even entirely forgot that I had stitches there because of how excellent the scar healed. I went to a specialized plastic surgeon 2 weeks after I had the stitches- just to check and make sure everything was going okay. He looked at them and said he could not have done a better job himself. I will be endlessly thankful for Wexner medical center. This could have easily been a scar that ruined my life but instead I look in the mirror and don't even see it myself. Thank you Wexner. I tell everyone I know how great you are.

Since moving to Columbus roughly three years ago, my health has been a little all over the place. I needed to find a primary care physician, a rheumatologist, and a handful of other specialists (GI and Urology) as soon as possible and going with Ohio State was easy. It's close by, there's several facilities all over the city, and the main hospital is about a mile from my house. While right away I noticed that there were a few things that could be improved, my experience was still way better than the ones I had in Chicago at Northwestern. Needless to say, I was content. That was until I found myself in the Emergency Department twice, admitted twice, surgery twice, and two full months of illness. Without getting into all the details, I can say that the treatment I received was rather awful. From an eight hour wait in the ED to being rushed into surgery, to poor communications between doctors, and a lack of ability to manage my medications, the entire ordeal was exhausting. The first experience was so bad, that less than a week later when I needed to go back, I waited a little too long out of fear of what would happen. Since then, I've gone back for a few procedures and a tonsillectomy. Things weren't as bad, but I was still anxious and on pins and needles just walking into the building. Overall, I would say the majority of my doctors and normal visits are great, but the ED situation is one I pray I can avoid in the future.

Terrible ER system. After a 3 and a half hour wait. Never saw a dr. Left because it was at least another 3 hour wait.

mostly evil people work here, dont go here. they lack trust and integrity, the two main things you cant get a lack thereof, when seeking and receiving healthcare services from a healthcare provider you have granted trust w your care. this was a horror show for me.. theyll take you off medicine, give u medicine u tell them you cant take, restrict your access to the next level of care such as rehab facilities, ignore your nursing support complaints, deny you xray, ultrasounds, most exams, deny much of everything that is typically good to get. even my husband got upset saying im supposed to get rest in a hospital and hes usually stern w me on everything if it goes wrong. hes actually siding w me in this case. the nurses are dishonest which is problematic to a doctors ability to exercise full care, and respect the rights for his patient. he cant even protect you from them, except by discharging you from the hospital. if u complain about them, individually and respectfully re their bad behavior, the hospital covers it up and they all retaliate against you. this turns into revenge healthcare. i was taught when you see things, say things. here, when you say things, to complain which can lead to better professional development even, the entire hospital staff, stop altogether, the want and desire to accept information to even acknowledge a complaint. they stop responding, replying, etc. basically allowing your victimization at the same time, deny the validity and acceptance of your complaint/grievance. this including ombudsmen. their office is inside OSU, so they arent that independent. im sure she gets her free lunches. the lot of them, they all became, "busy" "had a meeting", basically ignore you and your complaint, as if youre making it all up. they know youre not.. if you ask for the nurse name to file complaint, they stop responding to you, lies on you too, for them. the doctors band in w them, so if the staff get upset the doctors will lie too, on medical notes, to discharge you, then block your access to another hospital, like the next level down, an acute care hospital. they work to get you restricted from these rehab places, even having insurance thatll cover it. now, its very possible they did this to me only, and nobody else. but this is bad behavior and evidence these ppl are very spiteful here as they blocked me twice trying to discharge. two acute care hospitals u usually go to after surgery told me they were receiving info from osu, that blocked me from going. all this can not be just a new behavior or coincidence. this is more culture and climate. there were some good nurses, they had to get them from another part of the hospital or something. i had a $500,000 surgery and chose dr farhadi at osu, and have been harassed, assaulted, restricted rehab at an acute care by him and even his staff was physically violent. all this 3-5 days after arrival. ive regretted me giving this doctor this job ever since 2hrs after i woke from surgery. they lied on my records to restrict my access to other hospital, then lied to me they didnt have a bed but the guy that works there has more integrity, bc he told me they do have a bed and plenty of them. i like he wasnt going along w the lies they wanted him to... he was honest. lies are too rampant here.. since when do a hospital dont accept you, w eligible insurance, and youre qualified after such an extensive surgery. thats crazy. should be malpractice... they told them i had therapy and thats a lie too. that should be considered free consultation. 5 mins twice is saw therapy pt, so if they bill that on my insurance, im disputing it. ive not seen the doctor also, so ill be checking the insurance summary bc if hes said hes done anything more, insurance wont be paying him either after my dispute... staff answer the nurse line screaming mad upset, and will tell you they dont like the way u make them feel, on the darn nurse line! they shouldnt dare consider demands or a patient in this manner. try and complain to manager... they will not even respond.

9 hours after bringing a family member in for severe abdominal pain and a spiking fever, we've yet to see a doctor or have access to an actual ER bed. Waiting in the main lobby. This is round 2 since a month ago, made a similar trip with a non-diagnosis. Note primary care doc ordered some tests and sent us immediately to the ER. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. The lack of communication and unhelpful information from front desk staff is 0 stars. And the waiting room is virtually empty. I'll never come here again. Update: I've been asked to call Patient Experience Team, and will do so!

Average wait time 4.5 hours! I sat waiting in the ER for 4.5 hours had my vitals checked times while in severe back pain on the verge of blacking out only to be told they didn't even have doctor on staff this evening and they where waiting for the doctor on call to arrive. The nurse had asked to checked my vitals again and I asked what for they are the same last 3 times you checked so when is the doctor coming and stated we had people waiting for 12 hours. I said I have to go. Riverside only has an 11 minute ER wait, maybe OSU should announce there accurate 5+ hour wait without any doctors to attend the patients in pain.

I wonder why this hospital only has 2.5 stars. Let me start off saying that this place is a disgrace. This place let my family member pass away in their care. This place treats you like crap. This place is in the process of being sued because of their neglect. Thankfully, we have a couple employees (nurse doctor ect.) willing to testify!! This place could care less about Your loved ones. This place calls you to inform you your loved one passed away and has you drive hours to identify your loved one and then tells you to leave and there's no info available at this time??!!!! Who in the hecK does that????!! This place does not take you or your loved ones into consideration!!!!!! This place needs shut down!!!! Why are all the reviews mostly bad? Social media reviews are mainly all negative?! DO NOT take your loved one or yourself to OSU Wexner medical center. I repeat, DO NOT go to OSU if you want to live or if you want to see your loved one.

Osu Wexner Medical Center Emergency Department Nurses will abuse your loved ones both mentally and physically. Leaving Trauma that lasts for months and do nothing about it except shrug their shoulders and say "sorry." They believe they can treat people how ever they want AND charge you whatever they want for it. I went to OSU emergency department for suicidal thoughts. I was stripped of my belongings and they had me sit in a hallway. I thought I was waiting for a room. I sat in the hallway for 12 hours. I asked several times when I would be able to see a doctor or receive some therapy for the state I was in during my visit. The nurse told me to shut up and stop talking several times, She then said that If i spoke again that she would "pink slip" me. Apparently a "pink slip" is a mandated 3day stay against your will in a psychiatric facility. The nurse used this as a threat to keep me from speaking and asking for a doctor. I became so nervous about being held against my will that I started crying and asked for a phone call. I called my sister and explained the situation and asked her to come down to the hospital all the way from cleveland to have me released. The nurse did not like that I asked my sister to have me released and called over a security guard and told him that I needed to "cool down" even though I did not cuss or yell at her in anyway, I was just simply crying on the phone to my sister about the poor treatment I was receiving. The security guard rushed over, picked me up and THREW my body into a padded cell that was still dirty with smear marks from the person who was in there before me (looked like feces), They then injected me with a sedative without my permission. I was in the ER for over 12 hours and never received therapy. But I left with bruises all over my body and had even more trauma than before I showed up. This place made me scared to ever ask for mental health care again. I will never come to a hospital again looking to care if they can threaten to hold you against your will just for asking to see a doctor. 8 months later, they send me a bill for $2700 for no care received at all. I called and explained that because I had to seek additional care for the trauma i endured while in their facility that I should not have to pay that much when they did not treat anything, they actually made my condition WORSE. They said "sorry" and said I still owe them the entire cost, and Also had to pay for the sub-sequential therapy from the trauma endured while in their care. I'm still traumatized by my experience and will not be silenced. I have made several complaints to their "patient experience" department and all they do is shrug their shoulders and say sorry, but they did not have the nurse do any additional training for how to handle a mentally ill patient and say that they worked "within the guidelines of standard care" I don't understand how leaving bruises on your patients and making their condition worse falls between "standards of care" They refused to give me the nurses name so I could report her to the Medical board for abusing and threatening me. They said it was in my records, but when I received my records her name was not in it, nor was the security guards who left bruises on me. They continually give me the run around so that they can waste my time even further to protect their own assets and do not care at all that I was traumatized by my experience here. I encourage anyone who has been abused by these people to make a complaint to ABC6 by your side. Apparently one voice isn't enough. Our Health Care system is so messed up if this can happen to someone and NOTHING is done for corrective action. I'm appalled. I'm out of options about who to take this to, who to talk to about so that OSU cannot treat people like this. The nurse who abused me should be in Jail, but I can't find her name.

This hospital is a joke. Don't come here if you want to live. I came in with high fever, extremely sick and severe stomach pain obviously something wrong yet I had to wait nearly 5 hours to be seen which is ridiculous. When they did take me back the rooms were all full so they were using the psych rooms or whatever it was in the back which is behind locked doors which was not pleasant. I got treated like a psych patient. I was in tears from pain yet they didn't seem to care. I couldn't handle it anymore and ending up leaving and going to Dublin Methodist hospital which they took me straight back to a room no waiting, gave me pain meds and ordered a stat CT scan. Ended up that my appendix burst and I was taken back to emergency surgery within two hours of arriving at their ER. Because of OSU Wexner's judgement and neglect they could have killed me by having me sit in a room and not ordered a CT scan to see that my appendix burst. This is only one incident of their horrendous care. They have been neglectful on numerous occasions.

Do not ever go to this emergency room!!!!!!!! My son just moved to Columbus and lives 10 minutes from this crap hole ER. He was violently ill and in 10/10 pain. Went to ER. I drove up from Cincinnati to be with him. Long story later, he was seen over 12 hours later. The people there were rude, uncaring, slow, and patently lied in several instances. There was a diversion that night and that was their excuse for everything. Over 12 hours is unwarranted in any situation! The worse situation I have ever been in in my 54 year old life. I felt so sorry for my son and the rest of the people waiting. Ohio State should be embarrassed by this place!!!

I just checked out yesterday from a three day visit to Ross Heart Center. The check in was fast and efficient. The personnel on the 7th floor were absolutely outstanding. I couldn't believe how many cheerful and friendly people were there to insure your needs were handled. What impressed me the most was how they kept me informed of what they were doing and answering any and all questions. It was especially impressive that the cheerfulness and attitude never changed if it was 2pm or 2am.

Yesterday took my sister-in-law to her OSU doc on Tremont. She had been throwing up for 2 days but didn't seem to have a cold or flu. Doc at Tremont told her she was probably dehydrated and she should go to emergency room for an IV. After waiting 2 hours we gave up and went back home.
