McConnell is a rehab center but you might not know that it is also a gym with a full complement of services: weight machines, cardio equipment, personal training, indoor and outdoor walking tracks, giant fitness studios , and a huge slate of fitness classes, including more aquacise than you can shake a stick at. And it's open to the public. But don't join expecting to take your kids to the pool because other than for swimming lessons during non-peak hours, kids are not allowed. That's right, aquacisers and swimmers: rejoice. You are no longer in a losing battle for a sliver of pool resources. And no kids means this place is QUIET.Does this mean sometimes it's a little TOO quiet? Yes. The membership is largely older. For instance, until now I had never been in a class where people have yelled at the instructor to turn the music DOWN (this was in aquacise, I've never run into this in the exercise studios.)But having an older population doesn't mean the classes are less challenging. There is a huge range and variety offered at all times of day, including plenty on weeknights. I've taken plenty of appropriately challenging classes here and I've never taken a bad one. I do like the ~40 minute class time because it's easy to either get in and out when you need to or stack a few together. On the negatives, there isn't much. The locker rooms are older, it would be nice if they could redo them someday. But they are clean and the lockers are tall single units rather than double-stacked units, which makes using them much easier. It's also a little pricey, but less pricey than Lifetime. I also wish the warm water pool didn't have that weird gate thing between the shallow and deep ends, it gets in the way.The only thing I really don't like: They make you do a mandatory "fitness assessment" when you join (the cost apparently ranges a bit depending on whether they are running a special, expect to pay a one-time fee of $99-$149 for that.) The dude who gave me mine was borderline rude and condescending and it was a waste of my time and money but whatever. It's short--mine was like 15 minutes, maybe--and not particularly valuable but it's not pass/fail so enjoy it if it's a good experience and grit your teeth and know it will be over soon if it's not.

This place is a joy to come to. They have taken wonderful care of my mother and she looks forward to her appointments. She has built great relationships with the staff, who is caring and compassionate. No request is too big for nurse Jen Moore when it comes to making my mom happy but also holding her accountable. Ms Mary Ann and Tracy are always welcoming and happy to see us.We had to contact upper management once in regards to some billing/insurance related issues and they took immediate action to help us.I highly recommend this facility to absolutely anyone!

McConnell Heart Health Center's management plunges to dismal depths, showing a blatant disregard for patient well-being while donning the hollow façade of a "non-profit organization." Their priorities are entirely driven by profit rather than care, leaving a dark cloud over their credibility. The mistreatment of Exercise Physiologists is nothing less than a slap in the face. Despite shouldering more education and responsibility than their nurse counterparts, they're offered a pittance in comparison. This glaring inequity underscores the institution's skewed values and begs questions about fairness and integrity. This gaping pay disparity saps motivation and has completely eroded employee morale, making it difficult to believe in the institution's commitment to quality. The management team wonders why they can't fill the open Exercise Physiologist position, lingering for months, and scratching their heads over the sky-high turnover rate. Maybe, just maybe the paltry salary that barely covers basic expenses in Columbus might have something to do with it; not to mention the delightful dose of on-the-job nonsense that comes with it. Who needs adequate compensation and job satisfaction, right?Adding insult to injury, their 3% salary increase this year is a cruel joke. While presented as appreciation, it doesn't even keep up with national inflation rates. This laughable attempt at acknowledgment feels more like a pay cut, highlighting how out of touch management is with their workforce's reality. In conclusion, my time at McConnell Heart Health Center has shattered any illusion of dedication to excellence. Their treatment of Exercise Physiologists, unjust pay practices, and feeble attempts at recognition have left an indelible mark of disappointment, casting doubt on their commitment to genuine patient care.

Very bad experience with their management staff on December 30th 2022. I'm an out of town visitor and my mother loves this place so I decided to come with my 1-year-old daughter so we can get a little swim time in. Management was very smug and she wad condescending in telling me that they don't allow children and that's why people like the place. The manager basically made it feel that I was silly for having the audacity to bring a child even though of course how would I ever know this living out of town. Just a bad experience with the management, however the facility looks fine.

McConnell Heart Health Center working in unison with Novacare spine, Sport & Joint Center Rehabilitation facility is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. Three pools. One full-size Olympic swimming pool including Physical Therapy warmed pool for water aerobics Etc. Amenities also include a steam room including a sauna which is essential in my opinion. I will post photo of membership pamphlet. If you are in need of physical therapy this is the number one hands down facility you would ideally want to experience.I am here on a reference after a car accident a year back but I want a membership. With a membership you receive amenities such as the gym pools equipment Etc as a perks but the best ideal situation for any person with spinal injuries this is by far the best but quite pricey facility, the worth every dollar. McConnell Health there are therapist, counselors and a full Medical Clinic in-house. Connected to McConnell heart Center, this place even offers Pilates and yoga privileges as a member. Call for inquiries I would highly suggest for without this particular Rehabilitation Center and the amenities it offers, it's worth every penny of SELF CARE!I was reference for rehab after a car accident, I give it five stars! Here I was able to learn how to re-establish all my muscle memory and the unique diverse professional staff is highly trained very considerate, attentive and very particular about the safety and Rehabilitation of their patients from my experience. I will post some photos, update and edit this review as I progress through this adventure of a building, in a world of self-care and professional physical therapy.

I was a guest of a member at this facility. The receptionist was friendly with the covid stuff and papers. If I wasn't on a piece of cardio equipment, I had to wear a mask. It was a bit of a bummer walking their indoor track with a mask , so my friend and I found a pair of machines next to each other that we wanted. Elliptical and stair master. Both were clean and worked perfectly.

I've been a regular at this gym for a little over two years now and I love it. The employees are very kind. It's impossible to not develop a friendship with them. The equipment is modern and well maintained, although I would like to see one more squat rack since two doesn't seem to be enough sometimes. I Iove that they offer several types of classes like yoga, cycling, pilates, water aerobics, and more. They also hold events like 5Ks and mini triathlons. They've been doing a fantastic job with allowing members to exercise while following COVID precautions. Equipment is constantly wiped down and appropriately spaced. All members must wear a mask too. Because I work for OhioHealth, my membership is free if I go a certain amount of times per quarter, so I can't speak on behalf of pricing. There is a mix of age among members. The vast majority are older folks, but there are still plenty of younger people during peak hours. I highly recommend this gym, especially if you're older and looking to get back into shape! There is a one time fitness test which new members must pay for and complete before gaining access to the gym, FYI.

The main reason for my mental as well as physical health is due to the facility but more importantly, it is the professional, always helpful people who work there who raise the bar. I suffer from a rare pain condition that hurts if I stand or walk. The best treatment for me is in their special "warm water pool" (they have three pools!) where I don't feel the pain. This allows me to not only keep my pain level down but I get in a good workout at the same time. There is always someone who can help you with whatever you need. I do miss the locker room showers because of COVID-19 but they will be back, in the meantime this place keeps me sane during this time as well as under normal circumstances! I've belonged to a lot of gyms but none have come close to McConnells
