Without Mike Smith, I would have had to sell my boat for parts in 2021. After a local person did not wiinterize my boat correctly, the engine was ruined. Mike purchased a rebuilt engine. You can't buy new 350 engines. The transmission was also damaged. Mike replaced it. This took year to find parts and some minor parts Mike replaced at his own expense because the cost was getting so high. We had a year with the boat running well after all the repairs and replacements. Mike is a very honest person and has integrity and is helpful especially for inexperienced boat owners like us.

The floor and woodwork in my old "82 Lund was soft and rotting and I tried starting the job myself. Dumb! I quickly realized that the job was way over my head. Finally I discovered Ohio Boat Works. The crew there did a tremendous job of restoring it. They know haw to get the job done! I plan on utilizing their services in the future and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks Mike and Shad! They couldn’t fix my boat, brought it home and found a broken shock under the hood and the key was left in the on position, so dead battery. Really disappointed.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had Mike and his crew restore my 87 Sea Ray, they did one hell of a job. Not to mention very respectful and kind and a straight up team he has! Only person I would ever let touch my boat! Thanks Mike and Co!

Very friendly and experienced. The appointment was really quick and the service on my pontoon boat motor was really quick. They did an amazing job! It was also very reasonable for what was done! I would recommend them to everyone!

They might be good workers and all but when you ask their advice on something they make it sound like they are the only ones that can repair your boat. News flash; we have internet and YouTube, the days paying overpriced marinas for small repairs are done and over with.

Ohio Boat Works did the maintenance and repairs on my ski boat for many years. Mike is very knowledgeable, honest and candid. For example, I fell in love with an old ski boat and called Mike for his opinion. He asked me the color of the prop, then told me I would be a fool to buy it. He knew exactly what that boat was, what was going to go bad on it, and how hard it would be to get parts. (He'd already worked on one just like it.) He really saved me from a big mistake. Took an Axis A20 in to replace a motor. Great with keeping us in the loop on the repairs, and did a great job sourcing the parts as quick as possible with the current delays and shortages.Service: Engine repair

Used him to completely restore our 84 mastercraft engine. Wasn’t cheap and we knew the price would probably go up as they dig into it. We we’re all on the same page about this. Turned out great! The communication was spot on, I prefer doing business with people who are direct and realistic.

MOST DISRESPECTFUL PERSON I HAVE EVER TALKED TO, Met with a what do you want ? Now this is a refurbish shop but on a day of 80 plus and having copd I locked by accident my keys in my car,along with my oxygen being in my car also ,So I ask if he had a coat hanger and screwdriver I could use, As and waited for a answer when he yelled at his kid to hold a part the right way, he looked up at me and said I told you I dont have any thing to help you except a 6 inch piece of rusty wire ha ging on a rusted hoist outside "REALLY". I suggest you call some one..As tools and boxes was all in the workbay..as he left 30in later he suggested to go next door to a used car lot, he seemed he did not want me on his lot period.
