There aren’t many machine shops left in Columbus, and sometimes that means the lesser shops rise when the old shops close, and options become limited. Fortunately, that is not the case with Performance Research. Honest answers, incredibly reasonable rates, and a team that actually cares. If you have any doubt, go talk to the owner who will proudly introduce you to his team members. It’s a legacy business that has kept their ethics and customer focus intact. Trust them.

From the first call Rob (the owner) answered every question I had and made me feel like me project was his entire focus. Nothing but great things to say, the quality of work is amazing. You will not find a better engine shop in Columbus! Joe is an excellent engine builder and a super knowledgeable guy. From the beginning he was great to work with, walked me through each stage of my engine build and he did an outstanding job. Bob was great to work with, a real straight shooter and an honest man. The same can be said about his son Rob. I was very happy with my experience and look forward to working with them again. I have not and will not ever hesitate to recommend PRI to anyone looking to have an engine built, weather it be mild or wild they will take good care of you!

Bob is nothing short of a perfectionist. Every detail gone over and options discussed. As a daily driver, I asked for reliability with but with a kick. Bob delivered impeccably. My Eagle Hemi has never operated this quiet from the day it was new. What a fantastic job. I know now why other pleaded me to use you for this build. Thanks Bob

These guys shaved my head down for 150 bucks. They also disassembled it, cleaned it, and gave me the hardware back in clearly marked fashion so the cam bearing caps lined up correctly. Top notch work, but boy are they slow! Quoted me a week, but it took two and a half. Worth the wait though, I really enjoyed the shop and their service.

Bob is a wealth of knowledge and willing to share it. Not many left like him. Provided me with a lot of help and suggestions when I was getting my '73 Vette up and running after sitting for 25 years BEFORE I BOUGHT A SINGLE THING FROM HIM! Needless to say, I will be giving him any business I can in the future.

Total joke. Rebuild 572 cubic inch engine then blew it up on his dyno. Held my blown up engine hostage til I paid him 5k. Warning go somewhere else.

Bob profit is the owner and has beer keg that he drinks out of all day every day. I took 572 cubic inch supercharged engine to him and he rebuilt the engine as directed. After the rebuild he was to put engine on the dyno witch he did. He ran the engine on the dyno in front of me and my friend. He overheated the nine and ruined the whole rebuild. The beerings were bad the crank needed turned , blew a head gasket and trashed the rings. Needed a total rebuild again. He then sat my 25000$ engine by the grinder and machining equipment for 1 year and wouldn't work on it . I asked him if it was ready right away and he shrugged his shoulders and turned his back on me and walked away. As I mentioned he held the engine for a year while grinding on other jobs while my engine sat uncovered beside grinding equipment. He just let it sit like a their looking for a ransom to get my engine back. After paying him his fee of 5000$ dollars for his rebuild and dyno overheat. I took engine to another shop that had to rebuild engine again at another 5000$. When I found out that engine was hosed from other shop I cancelled payment on Bob profits at performance research check that I had given him. After getting sued from him and his lawyer and me hiring a lawyer and 3 years later I had to pay him for a his shotty drunk work. This was a very expensive experience with Bob profit and his company that has no concern for his customers or his reputation. I would highly recommend taking your engine somewhere else. The engine I took him had all the best parts Callies crankshaft tall deck Donovan block and brodax heads. I am lucky I got my engine back. He knew it was blown up and the only way I was getting it back was to pay his ransom for a blown up engine. He is just a no good theif.
