Will not provide rental assistance based on what I provided. I don't make enough to keep myself up due to rent increases and I been calling back, and leaving voicemails, no response. Will be looking elsewhere for assistance

I bought a table it didn't fits in my car, I asked the cashier if I can leave the table to go change the car to a big car she said no. I taught that was selfishness of her just bought the table there can't even help me out with it.

I'm unsure as to who answered the phone but whoever she was was incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful. My fiance and I are both chronically Ill and just lost our residence due to a fire set by one of our next door neighbors, and when I called looking for assistance the woman there answered the phone but didn't say anything and continued her background conversation. When I waited for her to get finished, she said in a frustrated tone "Hello?!". I said hello and she finally said "Salvation Army"
I explained that we lost our place due to a fire and I was looking for any type of assistance and she just asked me what assistance I was looking for. After pausing for a moment, caught off guard because I expected her to explain to me what kind of assistance they could offer, I just confusingly said "any type of rental or housing assistance.." She then told me that they don't provide rental assistance nor hotel vouchers and told me to call CMHA.
I said "Oh, okay... Thank you" then the woman just hung up on me before I could say or ask anything else.
(I had looked on the Salvation Army website that said that they provided emergency housing assistance but I didn't know that only certain Salvation Army sites offer housing assistance and this wasn't explained to me)
After this phone call I felt not only more frustrated than the original situation left me feeling, but also confused and like I was being a bother to someone who was supposed to provide assistance during a trying time.
I'd say if you can avoid calling this location at all to do so, but if you unfortunately do have to call this location, try to get a caseworker to deal with them instead. A much better place for assistance is the Red Cross if you need any kind of emergency assistance.
