Very positive experience here! Reasonable quality bike and nice people! Charlie was super nice and helped me find my new bike. Might need to wait for people to help you if you’re not very handy but everyone was very nice, liked the vibe here!

Great place to buy used bicycle parts.

This place is amazing! I wish it was open more often though. The selection is great every kind of part available for cheap you could imagine. The classic vintage bicycles they fix up and put up for sale will outlast most modern bikes too. Visit this place you will not be disappointed!

Even though they fix bikes for free, but when you bring your bike and you need someone to work on your bike be prepared to spend 2+ hours there because they only 2 people to work on people's bike and they will jump between other people so you will spend large amount of your time there just waiting for the volunteer to come and finish up the work on your bike. So be prepared to spend the whole evening there.
Also, I would suggest they open more than 2 days during summer that when there are a lot of people need help repairing their bikes instead of only opening for 2 days a week (3 hours each day)
Also, they tend not to encourage people to drop off their bikes because they want you to wait there. And when you wait it will take the whole 2 or 3 hours for someone to become available to probably only look at your bike. So don't expect a prompt service there.

Not exactly sure what's going on here - maybe the review about needing to be in the clique is true. Dropped by a few times on separate days to donate a few of my old bikes, but nobody answered the door. The posted hours (here and on their website) are either wrong or they're permanently closed.

Really excellent service and great people. Had to get a new seat and seat post and was able to get it replaced for under $10. Cannot stress enough how great of an environment it is. I was even able to learn a few new things. Shoutout to Oscar for the help. Be sure to look at their hours though to make sure they are open before you go in

You have to be a part of their "click" or "scene" to even talk to anyone. This is the way it's always been there (ever since the original location on 5th ave.). I thought after all those years they would change, but nope, same people same thing. And they seem to never be open, the hours of operation are a reflection on when the cool people in the club wanna hang out. Prices are way too high for parts and bikes they get for free, there is a WAY BETTER bike co-op on the other side of town. This place is really awful.

My son purchased a bike that came partially assembled. We were ok with that until we learned that several parts of the assembly had been either misaligned or improperly positioned. I tried for hours to correct these and was ready to go back to the store until my wife suggested taking it here. I had never heard of Third Hand Bike but trusted her and the reviews and decided to bring it here. From what I understand, they are a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers. They don't necessarily do all of the work, they help you correct the issues and understand the how's and why's. They did indeed step in and do a great deal of the work, which I truly appreciated, just as I did the nostalgic conversations about bike designs over the decades. I highly recommend this group to anyone needing bike repair and if you're looking to purchase a used one, they have several in stock.

I've been there twice and both times I was cared for by staff volunteers and they actually done the work for me I don't know if that is par for course ? I could not have don't it on my own the arthritis in my hands prevent me working on the delicate stuff I'm definitely going to donate to the cause
