I really wanted to love this shop. Small business like mine but I got bumped a week and promised that it only happens once. The following week (bump week) got a call saying I was being bumped until after Labor Day. A MONTH. How can you trust their word now? Their games literally cost me another 5 weeks getting my air conditioner fixed in the middle of summer.

Worst experience I've had in a while. Would not recommend their service to anyone. I spoke with them over the phone and received a quote in person. However, when I came to pick up my car, the total somehow doubled. These guys were very condescending and rude when I inquired about this.Service: Auto battery replacement

I don't like taking my car into the mechanic any better than the next person, but I really do like the guys (and Sharon) over at Tom Hatem. Not only do I have a foreign car, I have a solid affection for MINI Coopers and all of the quirks that come with owning a German made British roller skate with a motor. I had come here for routine oil changes prior to the pandemic, but the shop got a little full during shut down and it was hard to get a time that worked for me. Anyway.... when my panoramic sunroof got stuck, open, naturally, this week, I called the dealer and they couldn't offer a loaner car until May (!!) and couldn't make any guarantees as to when they could even get the car into the garage after I dropped it off. So, next option - Tom Hatem. RIck also said I'd have to drop the car off, but it was "because I've got a couple of cars in the shop and I don't want you to have to wait around all day," plus, he was confident that if they couldn't fix the sunroof, they could at least render my vehicle water tight before the rain, so off we went. His best guess was 30 minutes of work, but they ended up needing an hour. Rick did the usual great job of explaining what the problem was and how they fixed it. He had the car ready by the following morning, by disconnecting the motor to the sunroof after he had to take the roof off to reset it manually. Either way, I was pleased not to be rained on. Paid for the labor and he gave me a nice write up on what they did, in case I want to have the roof repaired in the future. and off we went. I will head back over there first the next time I need something.

I am thrilled we found Tom Hatem Automotive! They are professional, knowledgeable and ever so patient with me and all my questions. They have provided excellent service on my car at reasonable prices and in a very timely manner. The entire staff is so friendly! Won’t be taking my BMW anywhere else!

Despite the glowing reviews here, I had bad experiences at Tom Hatem Automotive. Before I moved out of state in 2011, I went in for a thermostat service on my BMW E46. Paid top dollar for the part as I was told it was new, genuine BMW. Two years later, I noticed it was cracked and leaking from the bottom. This time I had a garage with tools and I was able to remove the thermostat myself, only to notice that it was aftermarket, not genuine. You can tell the genuine part apart from the aftermarket part because the genuine ones have the BMW logo on them. I was mad but hey at least they have done the installation correctly. So, I am back to Ohio now and needed an oil pan gasket replacement. Learned from previous experience, I brought my own genuine parts. I don’t want them to install a Victor Reinz part again that will crumble in a few years so they can make a few more bucks. I went in and there was a very young and kind gentleman at the front counter. Told him I need oil pan gasket replacement and he was happy to see the car. When we were by the car, I mentioned I brought the parts. All of a sudden, his tone changed and he said they are super busy and can’t take my car in the next 6 weeks. Well, how about that? The shop was available until the second I mentioned I brought my own parts, which have the genuine BMW logo on them. Well if you are in the business of squeezing your customers by charging them for genuine but use aftermarket, of course you will try to shoo away the one who brought in an OEM oil pan gasket. People have glowing reviews here for this place but then go on to complain that their BMW is not reliable and expensive to maintain. Well of course if shops like Tom Hatem install aftermarket poor quality parts, you will blame the car maker later on. It is not like people can tell the part is after market after it is installed. I would advise anyone against working with this company unless they have been a really long time customer and the owners know you. If you are a first timer, they won’t treat you right here.

Been going to Tom Hatems since the first repair on my BMW. They specialize in BMW and also work on other German brands (Audi, Porsche, VW, and Mercedes-Benz) and Mini as well. Tom had always treated me right as a customer. The company is now operated by Alex who does the same as Tom did. They have been the only shop a really go to anymore for my BMW as I know them well, trust them, and they take great care of me. If I were to recommend them, I wouldn't hesitate. Now it's been well over 2 years nearly 3 they have been my shop of choice for my car. If you have any brand they work on I highly recommend them as when it comes to car work I don't trust just anyone, nor do I trust easily either.

I just had my car fixed, and I just want to say Excellent Service. I'm very skeptical of mechanics trying to tell me about work my car needs, but these guys explained everything in earth language. They told me what could wait and what needed done now. Did you know they have special wrenches that are digital that beep when your lug nuts are perfectly tight? These guys are professionals!
