My pets love going to the vet, which says a lot! The staff is friendly and I can get in without waiting for several days. The docs are very knowledgeable and I always get a preview of what the expenses might be before we proceed with treatment.

Ive been going for about two years and the vets have been great. They help us out with our questions and follow up to make sure things are going well.

Absolutely love this vet clinic! They are kind, professional and non judgmental. I'm always confident that my dogs are going to get the very best care. Even in a few emergency visits they have made room for us to come there instead of having to go to a true emergency vet which is much more expensive. We will always return to this clinic for as long as we have our dogs.

They got us in the same day (our dog is an established patient) and we are lucky they did because she had Kennel Cough! They always take good care of us and answer our questions when we call.

I am extremely disappointed with Village Gate Animal Hospital. I had been bringing my dogs there for almost 15 years, and I was not given a bit of empathy when I was running 12 minutes late and notified them around the appointment start time. I took off work and picked my kids up early from school to make our new puppies first check-in appointment. My child's teacher was running late getting her out of school. I gave a courtesy call to VGAH to let them know I was running a bit late and was told by Grace, the receptionist, that I lost my appointment. And if I wanted to keep it I would be charged an urgent care charge. I had a 30 minute appointment but since I would only be there for 18 minutes of it I was asked to reschedule. Mind you as a client we've never once been admitted at the start time of our scheduled appointment. On average we have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for every appointment, so if that had been the case today it would not have mattered that I was a bit late. Then when I asked to talk to a vet or management I was quickly told no. Grace did not even check to see if someone was available to talk to me. As a full time working mom I try so hard, and to be given no leniency when I am running late one time in 15 years is disheartening. We will be finding a new vet, and I suggest if you want to be valued as a client that you do not bring your pet to VGAH.

We've been taking our dog here since 2017. We trust them to take care of his annual checkups, teeth removal (he's had to have 2 due to chipped teeth), and vaccinations.Today we went for our annual and were in and out in 35 minutes. We didn't have to wait. All the staff was helpful and friendly. It was a very clean facility. I would recommend.

Updating after the managing vet called to discuss what happened. She agreed things weren’t handled appropriately, apologized, and refunded the remainder of the visit and meds that didn’t help. Sounds like she’ll take the time to follow up with staff so this type of thing won’t happen moving forward. I really appreciate the follow up, refund and accountability. My cat had a front swollen paw pad & beans with visible peeling, scabbing and redness for about a week. When the vet tech came in first, she asked a few very general questions and asked me to sign a treatment quote, which included X-Rays. I questioned the X-Rays immediately, bc there was visible irritation and scabbing and nothing indicating a break or fracture (my cat had no reaction when bending or moving his arm and wrist, only when applying pressure to the pads.) She assured me this was only a quote and the doctor would of course determine what was actually necessary before something like that. Then she took my cat in his carrier to the back and I waited about 20 mins. The doctor brings my cat in the carrier back in, introduces herself and then tells me the good news is the X-Rays look good. What? I thought my cat was going to the back for simple vitals (even though every other vet I’ve been to does this in exam room)? Why was his full exam done behind the scenes? Why were X-Rays done when there’s an issue visible with your eyes? Why were they done prior to discussing like the vet tech explained? This vet proceeded to gaslight me (and I don’t use that word lightly per 2022 trends) by repeatedly claiming she’s unable to see the redness or peeling we were both looking at with her standing directly in front of me. She even went as far as to question if I understood what the word “inflammation” actually meant? I questioned pillow paw and EGC and explained his history (ya know, the typical portion of the exam where the doctor discusses and asks questions to determine the issue and recommend appropriate treatment that didn’t happen at all prior to throwing on $300 X-Rays) and she went into a defensive rant about what that actually looks like “the pad fully detaches from the paw” and how there’s nothing to that effect present (pictures included). They gave him THREE days of an anti inflammatory, removed the cost of the X-Rays I wouldn’t have paid for regardless, and sent us on our way. The following week I had my cat into his normal vet and sure enough, it was EGC associated w an allergy. He was given steroids with an antibiotic and was good within the week.

I've taken my cat here several times in the past few months, for a checkup and to deal with a couple problems. Every time, everyone was friendly, professional, and great with my cat. I've always been able to get an appointment within a day of when I called, and I've never waited long in the office to see anyone. Everything's always clearly explained, in terms of the illness, potential treatments, and costs, which are always fair. Vet trips aren't exactly fun, but everyone here helps make it the best experience I could hope for, and I won't hesitate to keep going back!
