About Whetstone Community Center

Whetstone Park, located north of The Ohio State University, is a community park and landmark for the Clintonville neighborhood. Originally a family farm in the early 1800s, the land was purchased in 1944 and converted into a park for Victory Gardens during World War II. Today, Whetstone Park combines natural beauty, native Ohio habitats, and community amenities. The park has a large community center that provides classes for all ages, meeting rooms, and free space. The center offers a variety of community engagement opportunities, including adult and children's tumbling classes, Tae Kwon do, parkour, ballet, yoga, calisthenics, basketball, and horseshoe throwing. The community center is described as very welcoming and extremely nice, with a helpful front desk. It has a big and clean gym for volleyball, a rec gym, and an arcade. The park also features a playground, a library, and an exercise room. Overall, the Whetstone Community Center is a vibrant hub that caters to families and community members of all ages, providing a range of recreational and educational activities.
