“I was painting the other day and had an art emergency where I needed some brushes quick. I was more than pleased that they had exactly what I wanted. They were super friendly and I was well taken care of.”

“Our six year old son aspires to be an artist. Being an Akronite we had to introduce him to the iconic artist, Don Drumm. When we visited the studio we were immediately welcomed by the staff. They took time to answer questions and chat (which made him feel super special). The gallery is gorgeous, make sure you give yourselves plenty of time to explore! Don't forget to also check out The Different Drummer which showcases local artists. You can likely find a gift for anyone in your life. Every detail makes the experience unique and cozy; the beautiful hand-crafted art, handwritten price tags, the complimentary gift wrapping, and the service. We even enjoyed the company of other patrons as we made small talk in line. Lucky to have this wonderful studio so close to home.”

“This review is long overdue. I've worked with Cass to frame two pieces already, and I just dropped off a third project with Jen today. There are other places near me that do professional framing, but none of them are as cordial or communicative. I place a great deal of weight on this. If I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars to have something framed, I want the process to be organically collaborative. At McKay Bricker, they review options, mats, and layouts in a way that informs and involves you. And they're just good people; friendly, patient, and willing to talk things through. In terms of quality and attention to detail, I have no complaints. When I brought in a mid 1900s etching, I wanted to frame it in such a way that you'd think it was original to the period. Cass nailed it. A few months later, they framed a page from an 1870 atlas. Today, I brought in a collection of army insignia. Jen took the time to find a mat that was nearly identical in color to a shirt that was issued to soldiers in the 1960s, and then did some math & design magic to make everything fit and work. Are you going to pay more here than you would at Michaels? Almost certainly. But the value you get in the decades of combined experience, the quality of the work, and the customer experience makes going to McKay Bricker a no-brainer.”

“We went there as a group for a crochet project. We were very uneducated in this field. The instructor was overly patient with our ignorance. She worked with us each individually and stayed positive. Five stars ⭐️”

“Cannot say enough good things about this place. I went in with concerns about my already framed piece being protected from fading in the sunlight. I was told that it had the special glass and matting already and did not have to change a thing. Then she proceeded to change my sawtooth hanger to a wire hanger (a better option), put bumpers on the bottom corners, tighten one of the corners of my frame, and give me a hook for the wall—and would not accept any payment for these things! Then to top it all off, she gave me a holiday gift bag! Wow! You don’t get customer service like that anymore! Definitely will recommend this place and if I ever need anything framed I will go there.”

“Even though we did not attend an art class, we stopped by after going on the train ride at CNP. We were able to see the silk scarf class in progress. We were really impressed to see the outcome of the scarves being made. Definitely we plan to book a class soon when back in town. The storefront features a variety of artists and a variety of art pieces. Prices seem reasonable. Check it out if you are in the Peninsula area!”

“Awesome little gallery of exquisite homemade goods - all of which have some historical significance and tell a story. Prices are very fair and the work is high-quality. And the owner is incredibly sweet.”

“I did not know of this town or this store before visiting Ohio. I am so glad I found it. The town is a gem with cute locally owned stores. This store carries a lot of locally made art. I bought a wooden box that I use it to store my pens and pencils. My box is the shape of a chipmunk or squirrel. However, there were many varieties such as a turtle and dog shapes. The products made me smile and will make you happy as well if you enter the store with a sense for exploration. Spread the word so that more people shop for local art.”

“I've been coming hee for years. I've always been blown away by the handmade glass objects created by a few dozen local artists. I believe the gallery began in 2015. Heart of downtown Peninsula alongside the river. Prices are a tad steep but there's many items to look at. Plan on spending 30-45 minutes in here or longer. Visa/Mc both accepted. Parking up front. Quick walk to restaurants, the tow path trail, the national park store and other shops and galleries. This building had been a general store from the 1920s-1960s, a barbershop and a post office. By the early 1960s the building, in near total disrepair, was nearly torn down to make a parking lot. Fortunately the historic store was saved before demolition began and restored by Robert Hunker. “Mr. Kluth's gallery is a fantastic hub. I painted there for days, weeks, more with the legendary Robert E. Wood doing mostly Greek art genre material nearing an "after Matisse" flavor. It was a wonderful life experience. He, John had gotten me started at the Unitarian Church, and we went from there. I am at 250 plus oils and 500 plus charcoal, watercolor, ink and even sold a bit of art. It was a "once in a lifetime" ordeal that continues in spirit of creativity and art.”
