Absolutely insane. They delayed our billing, we kept track and calculated our charges, should’ve been $230 with the delays. They added an additional $210 on our bill and would not give a proper answer when asked why. They stated they would not charge late fees because of the delay. Stupid. Right before the holidays and during a federal shutdown. It’s greedy and gross.

Customer service is extremely rude and un helpful. They messed up my bill and shut off my power and refused to listen or fix it. Both of the representatives were hateful and unwilling to help or look into the issue. I'm not the type of person that rages at employees either but this situation made me incredibly upset.

I cannot say enough about my wonderful AES. I recently switched our account to my name as my husband passed. Everyone at AES has been so very helpful and kind. I just spoke with their agent, Emily as I was worried I haven't received my first billing. She assured me all was well as they had a few billing issues right now. Her kindness really help take away all my fears. She helped me so much. Thanks Emily.

They are a monopoly and act like it. They don’t even bother to answer the phone anymore. Garbage humans, garbage company.

To even get service they want your ssn and id notarized so sent that in then got a call saying they want me to type a sentence on the paper and sign it and re do it all which seems redundant since the notarizer is to prove everything but they wanted more. Why can’t aes be like every other company in the world and verify online that takes like 30 seconds. They seem very outdated and not with the times. Website is trash and app doesn’t work. Need to fire the whole ui/web team.

This company needs sued. Inaccurate bills since at least March. Multiple families have taken to the news in this period of time over their fraudulent billing. I personally have been billed for March since March. so over 6 months now. And they want more money. SMH.

They allowed another mortgage company, not mine, close my account not once but twice. Took 8 hours of hold and a lot of yelling to get my service back on. If I had another choice I would pick them. This company’s custom service is horrible and they take no responsibility for the problems they allowed to happen.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but AES has perhaps the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called three months ago over an issue with the night light on my property (that I have continued to pay for monthly). At the time, I was told that someone would be out to fix it within two weeks. I have yet to hear from them and have called multiple times for an update. After waiting an hour and a half to speak to someone today, I was disconnected while I was on hold to give the agent time to research the issue. Rather than wait on hold for another hour plus, I tried the chat feature, which was even more disappointing. The fact that I continue to pay this company higher and higher rates while receiving terrible service is maddening. AES Ohio has perhaps the lowest Google review stars I have ever seen. What gives?

It has been almost a year and I’M STILL getting insanely high bills, compared to the previous year. They keep putting messages in the bills about problems on their end, yet they still overcharge. It makes ZERO sense. If you call, you are connected to a call center in another country and told to “just pay what you can”. What the!?!?
The power in our neighborhood is constantly flickering and shutting off out of the blue, when there is not a storm in sight. The lines in our neighborhood are worn down, poles leaning, transformers rusted. They don’t care.

The reviews say it all. If we knew they would be our provider for our new home we would’ve chosen a different one! Avoid them! Rates went up 110% in one year

Honestly, in my opinion, they do not even deserve one star Doubled my rates then it takes over two hours to get a hold of customer service You would think after doubling your rate you could hire more customer service reps I mean heck people overseas work for a dollar a day come on now

God forbid they hire customer service reps...on hold for an hour at average then get kicked off for no reason. Raking in record profits you'd think they do a Lil better at this smh
