All the female staff, especially the darker asian one are extremely rude and cocky. Go to the one on Frantz Rd! They’re more polite and professional there. Shakila Ali helped me with my issues when nobody else would.

I wanted to share a troubling experience with Chase Bank that I believe would be of significant public interest — particularly for customers who trust banks to handle their money accurately and responsibly.
On April 9, 2025, I withdrew $4,000 in cash from the Chase branch on Sawmill Road in Columbus. The teller provided two bundles of $20 bills, each labeled as containing $2,000. I placed the envelope directly into my lockbox, as the funds were meant to be kept as emergency cash.
Months later, on August 11, I retrieved one of the bundles to repay a $2,000 personal loan. Trusting that the amount was correct, I did not count the cash. To my embarrassment, my friend informed me the bundle contained only $1,000. I then checked the second bundle and discovered it was also short by $1,000 — meaning Chase had given me only half of the money I withdrew.
When I brought the issue to the branch, they confirmed the error and returned the missing $2,000. However, I learned that the branch had been aware their cash drawer was over by $2,000 on the very day of my withdrawal — yet made no effort to identify or contact the customer who had been shorted. Had I not needed the money months later, I never would have known it was missing.
The situation caused significant embarrassment and risked damaging a personal relationship. Despite this, Chase offered no apology, no compensation, and no accountability.
I attempted to escalate the matter with the branch manager. After initially failing to follow up, she finally called me after I informed her I would be escalating the matter to Chase’s executive relations team. When I stated that I believed I deserved compensation for the error and the four months my funds were withheld, she told me the matter had been “satisfactorily handled” and suggested I call her if I needed anything in the future. I told her I found that response unacceptable and would not be contacting her again due to the poor service I received. She then abruptly ended the call by hanging up on me.
If I had overdrawn my account by $2,000, Chase would have charged immediate fees and interest. Yet, when they withheld my $2,000 for four months, I did not even receive the courtesy of a phone call — let alone compensation.
I believe this situation raises serious questions about accountability and consumer protection in the banking industry. How many other customers have been shorted without realizing it? What policies are in place to notify customers when such discrepancies occur? And why is there no restitution when banks make these kinds of mistakes?
UPDATE: On the same day I originally posted this review, I received an initial response from Chase’s Executive Relations department stating that I was not entitled to any compensation for the error. Last week, following my appeal, Executive Relations reconsidered and awarded a $200 credit for the incident.
While I appreciate that some acknowledgment was ultimately made, this outcome only underscores how poorly the situation was handled from the start. Had Chase offered that $200 at the time of the error — along with an appropriate apology — I would have gladly written a very positive review. Unfortunately, after months of delays and dismissive treatment, the gesture feels like too little, too late.

Nice place and people. They were very helpful and I only had to wait a minute. My gf says Chase is the best bank in Columbus.

ATMs are actually missing, even though the green light indicates they're open. Hours are typical lazy banker hours, and they don't allow you to use the ATM inside after hours so even the one working ATM is somehow just as lazy as the staff.
